It surely doesnt fit for all niches. i run a video game related site and its rare a word gets highlighted by kontera. a list of keywords for kontera would be nice..
I have a similar situation. I have a site with lots of code samples and visitors. But since kontera can not find appropriate words in code samples, it does not perform as i expected.
I have a video game news site as well but I'm not really having any problems. This post seems to get loads of words highlighted! http://www.videogame-news.com/2007/03/06/commodore-is-back-with-gaming-pcs/
It's hit and miss for me - celebrity niche (sort of). If the story mentions some article of clothing or accessory it might pick up an advertiser for that item, for example. Already I'm finding myself writing longer and more "creatively" to try and mix it up and pick up some in-text ads, even more than I do for Adsense. Also, I see a need to rearrange my page layouts with more of the text near the top so the in-text ads are noticed, instead of letting it flow farther down the page below the photos and graphics and below the fold. I'm hoping it's going to be worth it. It is costing me lost Adsense revenue at the moment. If it starts to make it up I'll be happy so I can comfortably tell G to pound sand next time they try to tell me what to do with my website content.
Google Adsense is the king! Kontera and even YPN do not stand a chance. it might be okay for some additional $$$ but don't you think that adding more ads to a site would make any legitimate site look like an MFA or in this case MFK? Doesn't leave a good impression on the visitors!
Hi DaMa, My name is Jack and I am an account manager here at Kontera. Sometimes our algorithm benefits from some human adjustment. Can you let me/us know the URL where you have Kontera code implemented so we can take a look? Thanks. Jack Kontera Support

I guess the kontera publishers could benefit alot from each other just by looking at the website texts. Thats the easiest way to find out which words surely get linked via ContentLink. Just did so with your site Chris369. The phrase "online gaming" i could easiely implement in one of my sites news. I am limited with creativity though since my main VG site talks Resident Evil.
Hi Monty and jackburton2006, My name is Jack. I am an account manager here at Kontera. Both Google and YPN allow Kontera ContentLinks to be palced on the same pages. ContentLinks are in-text and are allowed. We have over 10,000 publishers using our ContentLinks and other forms of advertising. Give us a try!
Hi Chris369, My name is Jack. I am an account manager here at Kontera. We can modify the amount of ContentLinks on your pages if you send an email to with any preferences that you have. regards, Jack Kontera Support
Hi dark0circles, Hi Monty and jackburton2006, My name is Jack. I am an account manager here at Kontera. While we don't have channels developed (to measure which pages generate clicks on our ContentLinks), it is under development. We're a start up and are adding features all the time. Our algorithm takes care of placement -- it knows the optimal mix of terms, advertisers and CTR to deliver the best eCPM possible. regards, Jack Kontera Support
Hi Jack My site seems to be showing more now and I think I'm happy with the amount at the moment. Thanks for the email though, I'll make sure I remember it. Chris
I think he is one of those guys who some like but he also has his detractors. Maybe this will help him win them over.
