From my previous thread, which was poorly titled and got few views: - Adsense income was about $5/day - Changed two forum sites (www.ehsquad.com and www.import-nation.net) from adsense to adbrite. - Next two days, adsense income was at over $15/day, with traffic coming in from only www.asianbeautyblog.com - Made blog post, pinged it - Profits for yesterday were about $2, with my site showing up on the adsense report. Hits on asianbeautyblog have stayed constant. - Removed adsense from all of my other sites (other than ABB) - Just broke $1 for today. I'm not sure if it's because of the start of the month, or because the other sites haven't been without adsense for long enough.
The question is a little strange which is why I believe it isn't being answered. I don't think we really get the question. If I understand your question, the answer is.... It's probably coincidence.
Its when a poorly performing site(s) in terms of conversion brings down the overall cost per click of all sites in that account, even the higher performing sites. Its called smartpricing.
happened to me a few times: smartpriced at monday, ok at wednesday, smartpriced again next wek... could be that or just advertisers lowered their CPC...
The fluctuations are outside of a range that I've experienced. Still, if your different sites have very different types of ads showing, some cheap, others better paying - this could still be within normal range for that mix. When a site has a lot of expensive ad-inventory it takes only a few clicks more to get a lot more income. Same on the advertiser side: take away two advertisers, the price for the click can plummet. Personally I'd keep the ads on all the websites that have quality content, perhaps limiting the amount of ads to just one adblock per page - and just wait out the low spots.
Does smart pricing affect non-related sites? If two sites on an account were about sports cars and the stock market, could they affect each other via smart pricing?
