Hi folks, I am just finishing up another sports site to add to my collection and thought I would ask for some feedback about it before I finished it off comepletly. Most of the feedback I get here is pretty good and thought maybe this is a good time to get it, so I can try some of peoples ideas. http://nbafinals.info/ thanks!
I like the top part of the site, maybe you can make the header fill up the whole width of the site? Also, the bottom part of the site seems plain..
Maybe try placing the content all in a grey table? The bottom links can also be placed with another bar (similar to what you have above). Good luck
I understand from your web site that you only need one-time visitors. You don't want your visitors to come back again and again (why would I want to come back to a generally descriptive web site?). In that case, I would suggest you have a lot more information than you currently present on your web site. It's much better to have a comprehensive web site. Your direct competitors are not, in my opinion, the web sites with news. Your competition is, I think, wikipedia! How to beat this? With excellent SEO. With a good SEO in place, you will be able to compete with wikipedia.
Looks nice, I would change the rollover affect on the top navigation bar as the shading when you mouse-over it is a bit bad quality IMO. Site took awhile to load, not sure if its just my computer because there doesn't seem to be much on the site itself? I would add a border or change the template of the site, so that you can have a colour background (pale yellow) for the center part of the page, behind the text. I would also change the text on the main part of the website - maybe use Arial or something? Good luck with the site.
The most prominent thing about your site is the NBA logo. I would not build my site around that logo, I think that is really asking for trouble. I would make up your own logo for your site. I think it would be safer and look better.
I do not really know if my suggestion is correct but instead of a site a blog would suit better. I would say going the wordpress /modx cms way will do a lot of good. ARonald
I actually am experimenting with a wordpress site on another domain, perhaps if that goes well then I may bring it into the site. thanks for the input
