I have a question regarding keywords and phrases. Lets say you find a good combination of keywords and phrases with excellent KEI, how do you protect them from your competition copying and modifying them? Any information is greatly appreciated. Cheers
Hide all text with css display:none and don't link to it with the phrases in the anchor text. Or if your phrase is "blue widget" you can trick your competitor by typing in the title, "not blue widget" that way they think it's not about blue widgets and Google still sees the phrase.
Hi TOPS3O, That was lightning quick thanks! BUT If you do this then wouldn't this happen? A) You get banned from the SEs B) You wont rank for the phrases
I think he was joking, man. There is no such thing as protecting your key words. You either have the power to rank for them or not. It is that simple.
The keywords you are talking about arent yours in the first place... WWW is a free nation and you just need to make your pages strong enough to get the desired rankings in search engines.
Hec, I dont think he was joking. I have seen sites, where I couldnt see the keywords that they used ,when I viewed their source. I mean there were no meta tags or anything. Tops30 could you please come and tell us whether you were joking or not.
There is no such thing as stealing or copying keywords ! You can also do the same. The keywords anybody chooses are not anyone's private property. If u do not see what keywrds. ur competitors are using, how will u outrank them.use their keywords not blindly but use related keywords for the keyword.
Dude, how long have you been in SEO market?? You can rank for some terms without even having them on your page and its called Google Bomb. However G says that they have sort of fixed it now. But seriously, you can steal the keyword "Google" and try ranking for it (if you wish )
If you are new to SEs, then you probably would have not heard about the Google Bomb. It is a way to link baiting such that you rank or make other page rank for obscure terms. During last year, if you would have searched for "failure" in Google, then this would have led to GWBush Homepage. THis was due to Google Bombing where people get together and create a link to a specific page with specific anchor text. In the above case it was "failure" pointing to homepage!!! Google for "Google Bomb", for more information.
