Personal blog: To adsense or not?

I have a personal site that I've had for a while now that isn't targeted towards any market, and I don't really intend to make it anything other than a personal blog. Is there any advertising money to be had from it? I don't really want to add it to adsense because I figure it would detract from my earnings from my better sites (ABB in particular, see sig), but if I could make a bit of money from it with maybe a different ad network, that would be nice.

For personal blogs, I wouldn't add adsense in it (depends how personal your blog is, if it's about family, etc. But if it's about goals in.. lets say sports, adsense and such, then adsense can work).

I'm not sure you would loose $$ from your other blogs.. they aren't connected together are they?

Not connected, but I noticed a huge jump in adsense profits from ABB when I removed ads from my two car forums (purely forum sites). I jumped from about $5/day to about $15/day.

It's not a personal blog in the sense of things relating directly to me. It's just not very targeted content-wise.

How much traffic does your blog get? If it's an ordinary personal blog you won't make any money from it with AdSense.

So by removing ads you recieved more profits from what? Affiliate groups?

What you can do is try adding the ads in for a week, see how it goes, remove it and then compare the results.

More profits from ads on my other site. I may be wrong about this, but that's my analysis based on this sequence of events:

    - Adsense income was about $5/day
    - Changed two forum sites (www.ehsquad.com and www.import-nation.net) from adsense to adbrite.
    - Next two days, adsense income was at over $15/day, with traffic coming in from only www.asianbeautyblog.com
    - Made blog post, pinged it
    - Profits for today are about $2, with my site showing up on the adsense report. Hits on asianbeautyblog have stayed constant.

I've removed ads from all of my other sites (everything except ABB) to test my theory.
