How much traffic for $1,000 a month?

Hi All,

I would like to do some promotion to get high traffic to my website: www.swapoo.net (free file host)

But I dont really know the best way to go about this,

By reading the forums I see its clear to stay away from purchasing traffic from sources like traffixtaxi etc..

So what would be the best way to drive traffic to my site and how much traffic should I expect if I spend say $1000 a month.

I have a google adwords account but dont really know how to use it, I done a test on a previous site of mind and got a low amount of traffic for what I thought was alot of money really.

Any guidence on this traffic area would be a great help.

I would prefer to make payments via paypal or credit/debit card.

WesternUnion for me is not a really safe transfer service as you are not covered in any way.

However if you PM me the size and catagories of these groups and what you would charge then I may be intrested,

However Im looking to try and build up steady traffic & not spur's of traffic.

 

You should aslo read up a little on targetted vs. non-targetted traffic. That's the main problem with buying traffic ... unless it is coming from other sites that are relevant you're basically throwing your money away. I'd suggest doing a little more research on adwords, or even look at Yahoo and a couple of the other PPC 'majors'.

Gary is right.. don't waste many in useless traffic! buy some relevant links in sites with high traffic to get some traffic for you.Rank for some relevant keywords in SE... i say it again: don't waste money on useless traffic. I can find you some very cheap traffic that doesn't worth a dollar

 

$1000 would go quite a long in an adwords campaign, if you picked your keywords correctly, you could see some great results.

 

U should try advertisng at some warez sites coz warez is nothing else but hosting copyright content in some filehosting. I think it should work out well.

 

I prefer viral marketing. Spend some money for hire ppl to write a good viral report. Pass the report to the members here to help you distribute and I think it should increase your traffic fast.

 

how about stumble ads, you can say how much you want to spend on a daily basis and at only 0.05 cents per page view that 1000 dollars a month is a lot of hits to your site.

 

ive never used stumble ads before..are they effective for the most part?

 

i had my 250 pages visits in my catergory in the first 4 hours i was impressed with the conversion level too

 

niche directories should send you 200-500 uniques per day (plus they are free), stumbleads, adwords, offtopic + somethingawful advertising, add social bookmarking buttons, send a few myspace bulletins out, write and distribute a press release a few articles, participate in a few link exchanges, post on a few forums, adwords, etc
$1000 should send you 20,000+ unique visitors very easily (plus when they upload a file and share it, you'll receive that traffic as well).


get rid of those supper annoying paypopup ads (you'll get more return visitors), sell text links, rotate ads with affiliate banners

 

I would NOT recommend having your site associated with illegal content.

 

If you do buy links on other sites for traffic, make sure your link is on a heavy trafficked site thats highly relevant to yours. Also, preferabley, your link should be sitewide and not just one home page, giving your link more exposure. Makes usre your link is not one among 20 because this will mean less click on your link.

 

hosting traffic is quite expensive. But if it's target traffic, it worth of that, try adwords.
