    Hi folks,
just bought a new site running PHPLD (latest version i think)

I tried updating one of the footer.tpl files and then uploaded it again to the server and some details on the index page dissappeared. To cut a long story short i ended up replacing all the .tpl files (using some backed up ones) in the templates directory before i realised the server was out of space. So now all the .tpl files were showing 0kb.

To try and make some room i deleted some old and poorer gambling links from the php admin panel (while the .tpl files were empty).

Now i have some room on the server, but my 'top links' 'latest links' and standard links have ALL dissappeared from the live site. Just shows the empty categories now..

If someone knows a way to get round this which will work ill give em 10 bucks via paypay.

Ive checked PHPLD forum cant see any advice there, and no ones awake yet

    Help..?

    1. what's your url
    2. make sure you've uploaded the .htaccess file
2.a since you probably cant see it, it was probably uploaded as zero byte just like the tpls, so re-upload it.

The best thing todo is just re upload the whole thing and start from the scratch and reinstalling it. It could take you alot of time trying to investigate which file to invistagate. REinstall and add your data.

however, the only files i tried to change and re-upload were the index.php and the .tpl files under /templates thats all, so i did a re-upload of just these files and the site re-appeared but no links.....strange

I see....you bought a site and not upgrading to the newer version. Check your data. I don't think any files like .tpl etc, have anything to do with your links appering or not.

Are you just installing this new bought site just now? If so do you have the back up database?

Just bought it and it was working fine when i bought it, i havent moved the hosting at all, it just ran out of space on existing server so i got them to increase the disk space so i could update some of the files.

Have a backup copy of the /home directory but not the DB but the db seems ok, ie if i login to php admin all the links and categories are showing fine..

i think the problem is something to do with the fact that the .tpl files were 'empty' or 0kb whilst i was deleting some links from the php admin panel....it didnt seem to like that.

but i dont know how to get the two back in synch

Ok, skip the reuplading part of the old files. Is the phpLD now a license you own since taking over this dir? If so download a fresh copy of that and that should work, if that is the DB isn't corrupt.

Also, maybe the template has something todo wih this? try a different one.

I have backed up the DB, taken a copy locally.
I dont think there is a license issue, as the dir is still hosted on the same server.
DB is fine, i ran a check no corruptions.

How do i change the template, sorry im new to phpld..

i'm familiar with 2 and 2.1 and 3.1 If you have the latest it is the 3.1 which is a drag and drop using your FTP. Then from the phpLD admin System then Templates Manager You should see more than one, just click the ones you want to try out.
