Review my Baby Name website!

Hello,

I have a new project in the works. I recently purchased a database of baby names and decided to put them to work.

Everything is custom. I did some rewrites to make the URLs work well with search engines and look nice. I also did some minor SEO and hopefully within a month or so I can get these pages indexed and drive some traffic to the site.

The Baby Name Quicksearch is something that is still in the works, but it's working. It's an AJAX powered baby name search. I am also working on a Baby Name Game.

Please tell me what you think of the layout and coding. Suggestions are appreciated!

Like the pink and blue theme ... actually works in your favor.

You might reduce the font size on the name definitions ... will make scanning the names easier.

Of uncertain African origin.Means "born to bring me joy." (african)

You might also consider an alphabetic sorted list

 

Nice color scheme.

I think right area of your affiliates button (The square one) looks really bare. I would add an image there or graphic there (if allowed). If not, I would simply just center the button

The reason I picked the pink and blue is because it does make it pretty neutral. Guys don't mind looking and it and what girl doesn't like the color pink?

I might take your suggestion on making the description smaller so it's easier to go through. I was trying to think of a way to format each entry better and I think that'll work pretty well.

Alphabetical has been a pain because of how the database is actually setup. I'm still working on a way to fix that. It is something I would like to add, however, you could always just use the Quick Search

I'll see what I can do with that ad. I might have some affiliate banners on that side, which would make it look a little better and attract your attention more probably.

Can you be more specific? There is a ton of content. You have to look past that first page with 3 ads on it (it's the only one with 3).

 

I like your site, its really simple design. I think you could add a cute baby photo to make your baby site more attractive.
