Hi, Yesterday a wierd thing happened when Yahoo recached my website it dropped from position 6 to 13, the new cache also shows that my index page is now 35kb instead of 34kb and I haven't changed ANYTHING on my index page since the last caching, so I don't understand where did the extra kilobyte came from and why it affected my ranking like that, since my website was on the first page for quite a while... Did anybody else encountered something like that? What's going on? Thanks in advance. P.S. I know there's already a thread about a sudden drop in Yahoo, but I'm particularly interested to know why Yahoo thinks that I added another kilobyte of script when I didn't...
Yahoo has been changing rankings in a very unpredictable way lately. I have seen sites going up and down in rankings for no obvious reasons. Heard similar comments from other people as well. From my experience, Yahoo has become less a factor in search. Fewer and fewer people are using Yahoo to find info. So, as long as my sites are doing well at Google, I am not too concerned by Yahoo rankings.
Yahoo also keeps udpating its algo more often .. and sometimes the rankings can drop drastically .Happend to me last week, this week its back in the same position. No need to worry too much
as you know, there are daily small tweaks happening is algorithms very frequently, so i think a little tweak here n there might have affected ur ranking, welcome to the world of SEO, u alwayz be prepared to this kinda situation and work towards getting your ranking.
yup same here.. my indexed pages in Yahoo is decreasing gradually from 400 - 300 than 186 now its below 100 ... idk whats going on
maybe you need to work on your more links smub.... I think you will get them back if you keep adding new links..
this happens because of competition. please check out your index ratio and also workout on your keywords
I agree with ecom-solution.net your competition could be the reason why your rankings dropped. You have to improved your keywords.
thanks Janna. this is what normally happens with most sites. Instead of looking what is wrong with the search engine, we got to see our site and analyze the competition.
