I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if posting the link to your website in your forum signature actually helps increase your PR. I know that you get traffic from forum signatures, but since practically all forum threads are PR0, does it actually increase the PR of your website Thanks guys!
They're most useful for getting your site crawled quickly and fore some easy backlinks. Over time the threads PR go up a little so it helps with PR eventually.
I agree with nicknick. Forums posting is the best way to crawled quickly and get easy backlinks. It can also be the source of traffic.
Most forums put nofollow rel tags on your signatures and parsed links therefore not affecting your pagerank at all... It is good for increasing your crawl rate though!
That definition is from a site pr3.co.uk not from Google and that site is down.. If you read Matt Cutts Blog you'll see that all nofollow does is stop that link acting as a vote for the site!
Yes I would say definitely it increases your PR See the thread Paypal FAQs for Indians under payments section The Thread has got atleast PR3 I think so If your are psoting in that thread it will increase your PR
it might help your PR if the thread where it is located does have PR but signatures on forums are a great help to improve your link popularity and traffic...
it will help u to improve your link popularity and indexing the pages in search engines. check this post for more information http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=231456
in fact , your signature links will not help your page rank . they will increase your backlink counts and they will bring search engine spiders to your site
So you'are saying that links don't help PR unless the pages your links are on have high PR. But they do increase your backlinks count, right? Do you know why Google always shows much less backlinks than yahoo and msn?
If you post enough, chances are sooner or later you'll post in a PR thread. Even if not, PR0 still 'weighs' a small value, so a lot of PR 0 links will add up eventually.
