You already admitted that sacrificing American lives and health is acceptable in the justification of ridding Iraq from the torture that Saddam has committed. Do you think the soldiers agree with you?
So far every soldier that I have spoken to that has fought in Iraq is proud to have served and some of them even volunteered to go back.
And when you ask them if they are fighting and dieing for do they say because Saddam Hussein was bad man and hurt Iraqis? I am sure I have talked to and know more veterans of both Iraq wars than you have thought about talking to. You probably do know more. The ones I have talked to totally feel that they are of service to the Iraqi people. Some of them love the people, some are still not sure who to love since they never know who is going to attack or blow up. One guy was shot a couple of times and was leaving to go on his third tour last year. Not someone I know personally so I hope he is alive and well. I hope you aren't as confused about things as AGS, the people that are supporting are troops here like gtech and myself are for peace, but we believe that sometimes force is necessary to maintain peace. I used to get picked on in school since I use to be small and weak, later as I got stronger and more willing to fight back, less idiot bullies tried to mess with me. Sometimes I had to do something to keep the peace around me, if they knew I would fight they didn't want to.
Blindly supporting the regime that sends others to fight and die is not the same as supporting the troops that are sacrificing themselves for people that themselves are unwilling to fight. They are the ones that also push the propaganda that if you don't support the war you don't support the troops. It is a lie to cover the cowardice asses. Always remember who you are supporting and know how you separate the two. Also remember history is really new it just repeats itself. The American war might have been "useless" but Americans are not forced to be soldiers. The blame cannot be entirely on the government.
