Came home from church last night to find this letter:

I sent them a letter telling them that I have every intention of complying with regulations.

I have the images above the ads on the top but they are separated by a line. I will let you know what they say.

Seems like google is sending more and more emails about this lately. I would change it fast and make sure not to get banned by adsense.

I think images above/left right or anywhere are not allowed.
Let us know if they say ok.

I don't have images next to ads but I do have them above the ads. I had it seperated by a line but the page that netjobs referred to says
My CTR is so low they would have to be plain malicious to ban me. Either way I am definitely not playing around with this.

Yep, I think any memebr on DP should know better. This has been done time an again. Luckily, they are quite understanding abou this because its quite a new regulation they have put in place. I am sure once you've made the changes, everything would be fine.

I think people who do not have high traffic tend to implement such tactics - placing some image in the near by vicinity of the ad. Those with high traffic do not care because of high probability of exposure to the ads. Google eventually some day will come up with ridiculous policies about displaying ads. As is they recently came up with not displaying ads from any other competitors which look like Adsense - what else is to come?

    Thats frustrating...

My AdSense rep actually told me to blend my ads in such a way that it looked like other data nearby. She sent me screen captures with implementation and everything. I've abandoned the methods since (they worked great for a while,) but I'm not liking the fact that they are contradicting themselves.

About half the sites using Adsense do "formatting neighboring content to look similar to the ads" work on their pages. Another chunk of sites used the images next to the ads trick.

Anyone know what "formatting neighboring content" means? I thought that was what we're supposed to do! (?) Jeeeeeeeesh.

Well thats what the expert said on CNBS or is is MBC or what ever the money channel. Google has become what Microsoft is something you can hate. They are not small and cute anymore they are big and do not listen to the people that use them.

Google is a Giant Company, they've got lots of Premium Publishers and hundreds if not thousands of new publishers everyday. So it's not a big deal for them to ban small to mid ranged publishers. :(

Call me paranoid but I don't want to answer that. They have me a little scared. I can say that I got about 1.75M page views last month. That may have bought me a little grace. And again, my CTR is less than 1%. I was not trying to defraud google or trick people into clicking. It just is not worth it in the long run.

Strange that you're CTR is so low and they still jumped on you. It seems Google usually goes after very small earners, but you probably make over $100/day right? I know you don't want to say the exact amount, just trying to see if you're making enough for them to look the other way (which we've all seen them do).
