So I think we finally put to rest the question of whether or not the quote was mis-translated. And we can say with certainty that the quote, parroted through out the main stream media outlets and our neocon politicians and their sympathizers, was a false quote.

A leader that calls out for the fall of a political regime is not uncommon, in fact the US does it on a daily basis. So we must now ask ourselves why this was such a big deal? Maybe because our "leaders" still need the support of its citizens to start wars. They need a call to their sympathies, their fears, their nightmares. Remember how many times we were fed the WMD's lies about Iraq with a sinister pause afterwards? Will we buy the lie again? Of course we will unless we can start thinking for ourselves like not buying into lies like this one.

 

I have been following this thread and still don't see why you keep saying it was mis quoted. You keep bringing it back to him wanting to destroy the people that he believes occupies palestine - which is the jews is it not? Or is it the palestinians you are saying are the occupiers then?

Every translation I have read here still says he want to get rid of the Jews no matter which way you translate it UNLESS he is saying there is someone else there.

It doesn't say the people, it says the government. Many Americans don't like the present US administration and want to change it, it doesn't mean Americans want to destroy the American people.

The same thing that you post that the government is made up of different people, proves that he is not talking about the Jews and he is against the government actions. Why do Jews protest against the government of Israel, is it because Jewish people hate the Jews?
In their belief, Palestine is an occupied country and that is the reason they are against it. Why did French fought against Germany during WWII. Both French and German are Christians, was it because French hates Christians or was it because their country was occupied?
