At least I know I'm not the only one here who had a terrible experience with them. It makes no difference to me, there's a multitude of other options available to me, but still, I find it annoying that a company in that line of business has absolutely no clue as to what they are doing. It makes you wonder how secure your information really is. Hopefully they know more about data security than they do about running a payment site.

Emagicn ~ I fear that you are the victim of a phishing email. Go to the site yourself instead of clicking the link in the email. If you have clicked the link in the email, go back to moneybookers and change your password.

I'm not a fan of moneybookers either. I opened an account to send money to someone, and I could only send $60. I had to increase my limit, and in order to do that, you have to enter in a credit card, or get a letter in the mail with them for a code. About 5 different credit cards wouldn't work, so I opted for the letter. After 2 weeks of not getting it (I think it says you'll get it in 5-7 days or something), I called them. Got put on hold (on an international call) for like 5 minutes. Hung up, too expensive. Called again later in the day, and they said "The mail was sent out, it should be arriving shortly". Another week goes by, so it's been over 3 weeks now. I email them stating my problem. I have to then email in ID so they can do it. I do that, and the ID isn't good enough. So I finally email my drivers license, and they raise the spending limit.

    Waste of my time.

Stick to the rules and you will never have any problem.

I'm withdrawing $500 every month since a year. Great processor (thats all i got to say).

Always log in from your browser not through links.
I have not had any problem with them yet.

This is, quite simply, not true.

I did not violate a single rule, and I had nothing but problems with them.

You apparently did not even bother to read what he said. He said that he was having problems with MB so he stopped using them, and then (afterwards) he started to receive these emails. As far as I can see, the phishing emails had absolutely nothing to do with his original problems with this crappy processor. I think you must be the resident money bookers apologist. Either that or you are just a mega-dedicated fan of their service (or in my case, lack thereof).

I'd say he is a resident money bookers apologist:)
It's interesting how you get mails from MB.I opened an account with 0$ in it, and won't place money 'till I know it's secure and a I can trust them.I opened the account 1week ago, and checked the box to send me letter for conf. code.I Didn't get the letter by now.I also didn't recieve 2mail\day from them.I recieved 2 mails from them when i created the account;in first mail they welcomed me, and in the 2nd one the notified me that the letter for confiramtion has been send to me.

Me and my buddy bonzer got sent 2 identical mails saying we had been sent $689 or summats.

Very odd mail and obviously bollocks but these scammers put a lot of effort into making it look genuine.

Of course the links were shot to shit, this was what we got:
    http://www.aol.com/ams/clickThruRed...x23.0x4a/error/www.moneybookers.com/index.htm

    Complete shit.

There will always be phishing scams and with more peeps using the net the number will only ever increase.

I know of one person who receives phishing emails on an address that he only uses for his money bookers account. it was set up specifically for that purpose and never used anywhere else. That only leaves a couple of possible causes for him to receive these messages.

    1. The scammers are very lucky to pull an address out of thin air and it happens to be a real address with a money bookers account. - Not a very likely option, so I'll skip it.

    2. Moneybookers is somehow involved, even if it is indirectly. Maybe they sold the data and it eventually trickled into the hands of the scammers. Who knows how possible this is. If not "Money Bookers" as a company, perhaps a lower level tech employee pirated off some data.

    3. Moneybooks was hacked and scammers have access to a large amount of user information. Who knows, but if this were the culprit, that would be very scary indeed.

I can not think of any other possibilities for how these phishers would get there hands on an email address that only money bookers has. If I had to pick one, I'd probably opt for number two. I can totally invision some underpaid employee sneaking out a cd containing part of the database.

But then again, it's all pure speculation on my part. Perhaps none of these are the cause, but if they're not, then what is?

yup.....I think so, that's why calling MB would make a differnce, offcourse if the receptioner isn't hand in hand with the underpaid emplyee

Moneybookers it's not the worst service.. I don't think it was their fault for your problem.

It could only be their fault or my fault. I did not violate any rules and went out of my way to comply with every request. As far as I can see, it was 100% their fault.

Moneybookers was terrible in my experience. I have accounts at many different e-currencies and have never encountered a problem anywhere except here.
