2 years old Automotive website & Forums PR4+ AWESOME

Hello everyone Long time no see... I have been really busy with everyday life and was not able to give any time to DP or my sites and that is the main reason i am selling one of my Great website.

This is a Corporate standard website that was designed by a well known company in UK. I started it as a hobby and my intention was not to make money at all although i had plans to optimize it in future to make some extra $$s. As you can see for yourself it is not a turnkey ordinary website. Just the design part of it cost me $2000+ as i wanted it to be one stop informational site for Automotive industry. I had big plans for this but after first few months i got so much busy in offline business that i could not keep up with it. Forum was also added to make it a one in all automotive resource center but due to lack of time i was not able to reach my goals for it. For first few months i hired a professional content writer to write articles and news items @ $9/600 words and that alone was more than $1000. Website start was really good and it picked up search engine traffic very soon after launch. A Dir submissions services of DP members for 1000 directories was purchased and more than $2000 was invested in link sales which included quality PR8 and PR7 links too. I can safely say that more than $5000 was invested in this site but after all this work and investment i was cut off from my online business for a while and now i dont even get 30 minutes a day to track everything. Time is the main reason i am forced to sell this. Here are great facts about the site...

There are more countless keywords that CarSnaps rank well for and with very little effort i am sure you can enjoy 10000+ visitors a day just from search engines. Site is PR4 right now... PR really dropped because links that i bought expired so there is more work needed in PR. Site was PR6 3 months ago and i expect it to be PR6 on next update

It has lot of links on wiki and most of them are from regular visitors not me and wiki is one of main traffic source after SE

My current server does not have any stats package so i have no traffic stats but i can assure that 98% is genuine traffic with almost 60+% SE traffic. Site was getting about 200 visitors/day last month when i had it on a better server with stats but i dont have anything to prove that # now and i am 100% sure that the # has increased. You can take my words for that.

There has never been any adsense placed on the site but i am pretty sure that with little effort this site can generate $1000+/month as the eCPM for automotive related ads is very high and i even get $5 clicks on one of same topic site i had in past.

Please do not value this by traffic and revenue because there is lot more to it in this and i am sure any good webmaster will be able to see the potential. I am open to all kind of offers... Please feel free to let me know if you have any question

Some more details...

Vbulletin license is included with the sale for the site. There are lot of targeted visitors on forums from google but it just needs little activity to become active and get 1000s of members. Notice the biggest automotive forum is just one spot away from CarSnaps and thats a big achievement. Expect this site to grow and become #1 automotive resource site and forum.

 

To answer a question of interested party Site has a CMS system programmed with admin panel to add delete and edit all the content that is on the website. It is very easy to use admin panel and i paid extra for that too couple of hundred $s so adding content is really easy.

Jaree- I know your name and have seen many posts from you on DP and feel comfortable with your info, but could use more information such as site stats/income etc. I have automotive sites myself and could possibly benefit from your site if, as Bob Barker says, "The Price is Right"

Thanks for your interest. As i said i do not have any stats for the site but you can take my words for the traffic or you can easily predict yourself... Automotive news is the main keyword for this site and it is searched thousands of times in a day and this site ranks 20 for it. There are countless other terms in which site ranks very good which get site all the traffic rest of the traffic is from Wiki pages and from the permanent links that i bought. If you are adding content regularly... Returning visitors rate is very high and pageviews even go upto 30pv/visitor. So the new buyer can benefit more if he adds content regularly and do some basic SEO. 200 visitors a day is not a lot and with such kind of good positions anyone can be sure about that much traffic.

Real value of the site is not in its traffic but its design and programming and everything setup. It indeed is one of the beautiful sites i have ever seen

Just some friendly advice. With a site of this size you really need to at the very least put Statcounter on it to provide some proof to back up your traffic claims.

By your post, It looks like you are looking for at least $4,000

Without any proof of income nor traffic, plus an inactive forum, you are going to have a hard time getting a thousand (let alone $4K)

I would put some stat scripts on the site or move to a host with AWStat, track any revenue you can then relist it.

I would start with a $100 but seeing as how you have a reserve, there probably isn't any point.

 

Thanks i got your point and i am well aware of it but i was really not basing the price on traffic at all but on what it would normally cost to build such site from scratch. I have a reserve of $2000 on it and i am accepting any offers above that but i really think its well worth $4000. If reserve is not met i would keep the site and try to get it SEOed if i have time but doesnt look like i will be able to do that hence the reason i am selling it

 

It really doesn't look like the site is designed that well. It looks very 1999, something anyone can throw together in a day or two, where is the price comming from? I see it has pretty good ranking on google, you should run awstats on it for a few weeks and show proof of traffic/refferals and may as well put up adsense for a few weeks, you will get a much better price for it with those stats.

Can we have some traffic + referral (where traffic comes from) stats ?? All webhosting provide you with traffic program like awstats, etc...

Well i am not asking for total cost anyway and its not a new site either and it enjoys good rankings so i think that price is WAY more than fare

Anyway my server does not have any stating package installed on it but i will try to put some statcounter or anything like that but if i am not able to sell it in a day or two i will just keep it and pay for some SEO work

 

First offer above $2000 will take the site I have spent much more than that on the site but due to no time at all for this site and lack of interest and urgent need of money i am forced to sell this for that much.

$2500 BIN and Auction starts from $1800 This is a steal at current price. I will only wait for 24 hours after that it will be going on ebay

Only 20 Text links at $15 each can generate $300 that is with no effort and adsense revenue is plus.

 

To get over 2k you may have to hang on to this one and grow the traffic,forums, and revenue.

If you can get server stats it would help.

what will be the starting bid on ebay ? will there be a reserve ?

im a bit confused on the the theme of your website the domain is car snaps ? such as car snapshots ? but yet there are car articles and forums ... could u clarify what u were looking to achieve with this site ?

 

When i bought the domain it was a car gallery site but i couldnt find a better domain and i thought it sounded good and brandable so i bought it and started the site on it. I will have the same starting Bid $100 and reserve of $2000 and no BIN I have an interested buyer but we are still in negotiation of price and i am waiting for any and all offers to let this go
