Unique, One of a Kind: Audio Search Engine

It's one site that contains 3 domain names [songfast.com][songfast.net] and more recently [volumo.com]

From the site "Like Google, Volumo indexes thousands of third-party websites, such as blogs and personal pages, but only to store the location of externally hosted files. Volumo gives users the ability to search and download millions of files, most notably music."

Volumo actually metasearches (with written permission) two other websites that have stored the location of many media files, but don't use their capability as such.

The site has much potential and I'm actually quite angry selling it this early.



I didn't pay for any promotion for the site, so traffic started slow until about December when the site began circulating StumbleUpon and I received many great reviews.

As with traffic, adsense revenue was slow from about August 11th until November 11th. Since the end of November/ begining of December, I've made around $30 from AdSense.

It's a custom script I had made for around $350. I will not be selling further copies as only those domains are allowed to meta-search the other sites. There is absolutely nothing you need to do - it's all automated.

I don't have a starting bid, but I'll make the BIN $700 as it is steadily growing through word of mouth, it's totally unique, and I expect it to get really popular; I'm actually very upset I have to sell it.

Does this site have its own database or are all results the product of metasearch? Are the sites it searches relatively well established or are they sites run by a small team?

No, all the results are from other sites' databases. The sites are very well established, it's just they don't take advantage of their massive collection of indexed audio files, where Volumo does.

It looks like the script still needs some work. Clicking on Preview or Show Code just kicks me back to the home page. And you have to right click and save target in order to download.

 

i searched 4 songs, and only 1 song turns up.. hmm... how many songs have been indexed so far? Does the bot go on the web to search for new songs daily?

 

Yeah, I was eventually going to have these bugs fixed. The preview and show code bug is when the file is a broken link.

 

Couldn't tell you.. a lot. Personally the only song I could never find was Led Zeppelin - Ten Years Gone

 

So will the bugs be fixed or is that a do it your self item? $200 is alot for a buggy script.
