A few weeks ago I got a submission to LinkLister for http://www.norwichunion.com/, but they didn't pay. As it's a quality site in a category with no submissions I accepted it anyway but emailed the sender to ask for payment - no reply Now today I've received another submission from the same person - no payment again - for another top quality UK site http://www.rac.co.uk/. Surely if this person was an agent for these companies they would pay. But if they aren't, why are they submitting these sites Has anybody come across this before - any explanation?
This happens to me most of the time...people come and submit there sites and leave the payment page...this makes me go crazy at them but...even today i got a new submission and then realized the submitter cancelled the payment
During last few days--one of my directory have been bombarded (well literally) by some forum threads-which contain all the raunchy pictures Just deleted 7 of them today. Definitely there are some people out there to harras

But what do you do when someone buys 2 featured links in sleek then the next day submits the same with No Payment to Biz-King? Well i sent him a notice and told him to pay for 2 regular links and ill upgrade them to featured for him.... but yet no answer.. thx malcolm
His name is Henry Elliss and does the SEO for many UK insurance companies. I received many unpaid links from this guy. He posts on MattCutts.com. I can't remember the name of his main company, but simplyusable.co.uk is one of them.
Thanks for the info Instigator, sounds like he's a career spammer then I've removed his links and banned his email addy.
I have some very high profile sites in my directories and what I think is happening is that those companies just hire some people who promise them extra traffic, not really knowing how they will get it. I am getting submissions without pay, and then reply to the address of the submitter, normally some yahoo or hotmail one with an 8 digit number in it. 3 days later they submit again and pay that time. They try to get their client in without pay and then claim that they paid for inclusion when they present them with an invoice.
So we need to know who's in charge of the directory submissions it seems? I think a new mod should be developped for this. If not paid, the data shouldn't be stored.
This was my suspicion, the submitter can't really lose - he might sneak one in and if he doesn't he may pay later. But we have to spend the time checking submissions against payments etc.
Guys I am the Henry Elliss in question, and am very confused as I haven't done any free links like this for a good year and a half or so. And when I WAS doing free link directories (for a few friends sites) I never tried to "scam" paid link directories. I would use lists like vilesilencer and if I got through the process and realised it was a paid-only directory, I backed out. Thought I should come on here to clear my name - perhaps you could supply an IP address of whoever is doing this in my name so I can send the boys with the baseball bats round? Henry
i just delete anyone who don't pay and wait till they submit again and delete it again ... as i dont want to ban but it only happened a couple of time so its not a biggie
