I'd like to see Microsoft buy out Yahoo to compete with Google. It just may happen (speculative)

Beat no, but with MSN Live installed as default in Vista, I see it passing Yahoo and Ask.

Unless MS issue a patch to IE (along with other million windows patches) to block user to search on Google :), live.com probably never will takeover Google lead in search.

I love live.com maps especially "bird view", their maps are much better than Google & yahoo :)

    Never say never. :D

I remember a Yahoo executive telling last year that Yahoo was happy with their #2 ranking on Search Engines.
Google was #1 and now is even more leader, maybe now Yahoo is not so happy.

Even with most browsers homepages set at MSN.com, I don't think Live Search will ever compete with Google...

I would like someone to compete w/ Google, but I don't think MSN is the one to do it.

Google has a lot of dedicated users so it would be difficult to take a nice % of the market share away.

I've got to admit that I think live is an improvement on their old search. I guess a lot will depend on how much money they are prepared to throw at it.

I'm finding that Yahoo is my favourite engine at the moment, I'm finding too many about.com and wikpedia results in google.

My feeling that msn is unstable right now, and it has been like that for 3 years now. They need to really come up with something Google doesn't have to beat it.

I wouldn't say yes, but i do hope so. Google holds the monopoly
at the moment and i hate it. Competition will do us webmasters
    good

I am wondering what the price of yahoo might be..:)

I hope there is some strong competitor for Google. It will do good to users.

If MS wants to beat google then they should used brands like MSN or windows. With Live this is IMPOSSIBLE.
