I'm curious why there is such a big fuss about directories accepting viagra type websites. I have a new client for a viagra related website, and i never realised it'd be so hard to get accepted just because it's just viagra related. These types of websites are often listed in pharmacy categories anyway? So whats the problem Some top directories (not pointing fingers) accept these sites If someone were to submit a breast enhancement site, would that be any different? Personally i think it'd be worse for the directory owner's reputation as it'd be more visual. By the way, if you do accept viagra links in your directory. Drop me a PM. Thanks edit: I'm not talking about a low quality scraper site, i'm on about actual quality websites to be listed
Site owners believe that linking to viagra sites and having the word in their directory will lower their rankings. What the issue should come down to is only accepting high quality sites.
Terry its an ambiguous issue meaning that there is nothing wrong with these sites but no one wants these sites in their respective directories I think sometimes in life a product gets 'tarred with the same brush' as a similar product which in fact is actually an entirely different product Perhaps an unfair dichotomy for sure, but these things happen in life
HELL NO And Dont send Penis and Breast enhancement sites either Please! When you allow those sites... Google gets pissed and you start showing up in the search results for those words. It happened once and never again will it happen! Took 2 weeks before they were gone! thx malcolm
I will only accept these kind of sites if they are in fact a high quality site. The site can not contain a large amount of adsense either, if the site has more than one set of adsence then I will reject it, and I prefer that the adsense be placed at the bottom of the site. Also these sites can not be accepted to top level categories, for example: If they submit the site to the top level category under health then I will move it to the right category. I see nothing wrong with sites if they are of good quality. Malcolm, google does not care if you link to these sites, at least not from a directory and if it is in the right location. (see http://www.google.com/search?q=penis+enlargement&hl=en&cat=gwd/Top) There are some good companies that offer these products and are not just trying to beat the system and therefore I would accept those kind of sites.
What's wrong with getting picked up for keyword of site's listed in your directory It sends your customer traffic? That's a crazy idea that Google drops any site linking to these types of sites, or would you like to test this on one of your directories? Yeah you'd get penalized if it was a 'bad neighbourhood' site, but obviously, you'd review a site before acceptance right?!
I accept them except they have to submit to a specific category (which I specify in thr guidelines). The thing is the webmasters submitting Viagra sites never read the guidelines so I think I have like 3 of those type sites out of hundreds that made it in. The funny thing is Viagra sites usually don't usually want to be in categories with other Viagra sites
Exactly ? Anyways http://www.h-log.com (ranking #2 on google for term "se friendly directory") accepts adult sites. Possible location would be http://h-log.com/Society/ (had 2 featured and 2 normal links listed there for adult dvd store) . Other location : http://h-log.com/Shopping/ Remember to choose proper sub-category else it will be a delete. Search http://h-log.com/index.php?q=adult for term adult on the directory. I do not see why google will say " oooh bad boy h-log " bad... just for listed adult related sites ?
It may ranked there because of keywords but its not certified for being family friendly. You have to be certified my friend. Not just words. See that one below in the sig, it has just been recently certified.
I think a major problem is that there are so many of these sites that spam and try to abuse directories. It's annoying and frustrating if you manually edit your directory listings so it's easier just to block them all. --------------- I get 10-30 of these viagra submissions a day (I removed the domain extension for obvious reasons) First Name: Best regards Last Name: Best regards Email: Company Name: Best regards, Check this: Viagra Web Site Title: http://myblog.XXX/eviagra, http://myblog.XXX/eviagra, Good site Web Site URL: http://myblog.XXX/eviagra, http://myblog.XXX/eviagra, http://myblog.XXX/eviagra Logo URL Path: http://myblog.XXX/eviagra --------------- so... after many wasted hours manually deleting these, I just put a filter up to block the word viagra all together. It's not worth my time to allow these sites since 1 in 1000 might be a quality site.
I think if you are gaygle or yagoo or a big hitter Directory you can do as you like, life is like that, the more powerful you become, the more likely you are to 'bend the rules' Does Mickey have an election problem
I made it to a point that $<-- that talks louder. As far as free MFA's or Meds I will not accept it for free, but yes paid submissions works for me, but it has some limits, like it can only be legal contents and that site must not link to illegal sites. So if you have some one who's willing to drop a Paypal email with a number or two then count me in. Just to note: Some of us will be needing Viagra sooner or later
