Landing Pages

    Hi,

    Ive created a new web site but I think my landing pages are too cluttered.
    At present I have numerous clickbank products per page, grouped into the various categories and sub categories. Would it be more prudent to put one product per page with a brief pitch of the product with a redirection to either the publishers pitch page or to the payment change.

    I'm pretty new at this but learning more and more every day, would welcome any comments or suggestions

    There are a few guys who have done clickbank referrals pretty successfully - Frank Kern is one, and I think Jason Moffatt did too.

    They used single pages for each product - each one with a video or sales piece leading with a hop link at the bottom.

    From a sales funnel perspective, this might end up being the most effective way for you to sell, because people can't be distracted by other similar products on the page and get confused (or even worse, start clicking and stop buying).

    Think I'll try one product per page, do you think its ethical to copy text from the pitch page to use in this landing page and then hoplink direct to the publishers payment page through a cloaker?

    I find when I view the pitch page of publishers I get distracted and just want the details and price so would shorten their pitch on my landing page to attempt to get better conversions.

    Keep in mind I don't have a ton of direct experience in this, but from what I've heard....

    The landing pages should be pretty short. Make it sound like you've used the product or know it very well. Explain its advantages and maybe some disadvantages (to make it seem like you're not totally biased) and then give the hoplink. If the buyer is really interested, he will go to the publisher's pitch page and, assuming the publisher has done a good job on his landing page, the visitor will probably buy.

    Just remember, usually the publisher will be able to write a better pitch page than you, simply because he has more experience in his field and knows how to sell his product.

    Sounds like you're off to a good start with landing pages.

    I would definitely recommend making them highly targetted. Your page shouldn't be a 'browse my store' unless that's the only thing you're marketing it as. Find specific products, write specific pages for them, either giving them a review or comparing them with another product.

    Don't copy text from the merchant's page - you'll have better success if you write it yourself. If the person has to see it on the merchant page, there's no reason to make them read it twice.

    The goal of a landing page is to "pre-sell" your viewer. You don't need to push a sale on them, just have a paragraph or two explaining the product and how it will fill the need the viewer has, and maybe a bonus or two they can get by buying through you.

    Overall, keep your landing page focused on the customer & to the point with the specific products you're marketing, and you should do fine.

    Don't copy slabs of text from the affiliate's site, and don't use redirects.

    If you're using Google (Adwords or Organic Search) for lead generation, duplicate content and cloaked redirects will get you slapped down very quickly.

    Follow Telmari's advice.

    Some of the best referral pages I've seen are along the lines of:
    Here's the problem you're probably facing (address the customer's needs)
    Here's what I've found to be the best solution (introduce the product)
    Here's why it's the best product (comparison to other products - price, features, if it's software then demonstration of software in a video, etc)
    Here's where to buy it (hoplink)

    Some good advice in here and I will have to get back up to speed with things on Clickbank products. I have been so involved with getting a website set-up I had forgotten about the power of targeting individual affiliate products.

    Here's to taking action on what I learnt - cheers guys :D

    My landing page is a lean squeeze page and I'm always trying to go for the subscriber. Offer something enticing and improve your opt-in rate. Then try and sell 'em. ;)
