In no particular order. Forums posts, (signature and announcements) Articles PPC Link exchange Directory submission, (00's, not just the big ones) Press release Newsletters. Blogs FFMG
You can try also social bookmarking and put some comments on related blog site that has high traffic.
Those are near impossible to get onto. You need an amazingly good site/story to get traffic off the bat from them. FFMG
pinging your sites, posting on forums/guestbooks, just mainly getting a lot of backlinks so that the search engines will index you faster.
Hello Tauren first of all choose ur keywords on which u wants to get on google. rather then choosing top competative key words go for less competative keywords. for eg: "mobile phone" is a highly competative key word rather then targeting this i will choose best mobile phone, free mobile phone etc... Exchange links with other related site using your key word as a anchor text Hope u will definitely found a place on gooles's 1st search page Day Kevi
no matter what, the most money will be made from paid ads. YOu can optimize your site and eventually get nice placements, but without spending there is only so far you can get
Content = traffic more content = more traffic You also need to know how to use single content in different ways to gain traffic > That is SEO
build links, links and more links. then wait a year for you natural search to work. in the meantime spend money on PPC.
social sites are the likes of digg, stumble upon(a socal bookmarking site), etc. social bookmarking is where you "add" "recommend" a site to a site, hence bookmarking. the most famous is http://del.icio.us/
Submitting to little directories as well as big one's is a bright idea, people usually give PR3+ directory lists but when you check them they either removed free inclusions or full of junk so pretty hard to be noticed and get clicks. When you submit to new directories(i'm not talking about domain+script+template junks)you help them build a database and they give you a free backlink and some visitors in time, i do not spend money on website promotion till it gets naturally "promising".
Of course they are, but getting bookmarks in the first place is almost impossible for a new site. You might be able to do it once or twice, but this is not really reliable. FFMG
I don't really know much about digg or stumbleupon, but I know someone over there must dig my site cause I got almost a hundred uniques in one day from stumbleupon. I don't know what it is but I like it!
