Any REPUTABLE email opt in lists???

I am looking for a REPUTABLE email opt in list. Does anyone have any experience dealing with any particular company? I am more worried about reprecussions, than the cost. I don't want to spam people in ANY way, shape or form.

    thanks!

If you use getresponse as your autoresponder or email marketing management system, they have a feature which allow you to buy coregistration leads - at which the email list becomes yours. They are a reputable company.

Yeah I'll agree with getresponse...that's what I use to manage my list. As for building my list I don't spend any money on leads...people opt-in to my list for the free things I offer them.

When I was working with Mystery Method, they used Kobemail. I found it to be very sophisticated as far as tracking. If that isn't for you, perhaps getresponse or aweber.

If you want a reputable list, you have to build your own

Not sure what you are talking about, but Aweber works great to get leads and send out email. It is double opt in which has a downside, but it is also supposedly passes alot of spam filters.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Do you want to use someone else's opt-in list?

One of the downsides of Aweber though is they've sacrificed some things (like the ability to use coreg / import lists) in return for greater deliverability.

I moved over to ARP because of it. More powerful, able to use coreg and purchased lists, plus I have full control over things like keeping my IP address clean and away from blacklists.

The problem with that is that they haven't opted to receive marketing emails from you

You may want to just find someone with a good list and offer a promotion through their marketing emails

    Serg,

Search for a company called rent-a-list.com. I think this is along the lines of what you are looking for

You can import lists into AWeber. When I moved over from an in-house
solution I had to do so, and it went very smoothly. Co-reg would be
    nice though.

    Search under "list broker"

One sign of a reputable list is that you will never actually have possesion of the list. Your email is sent out on your behalf by the list owner or broker. This also ensures that you come under the umbrella of the original double opt-in as the party being granted email rights is the original owner, not the current user.

Double opt-in disappears as soon as you buy some list on a cd, if that double opt-in ever existed in the first place.

A good targetted list can be worth upwards of $500/CPM. So if the list comes on CD for $30/million, it is likely to be scraped email addresses.

Lists work well if you stay within the spam laws - expect to get some flames even when people opt in they like to complain about it..

One point: the originator of this thread did not specify an area of interest or target for his website. Renting a 'generic' email list, double opt-in notwithstanding, is a big waste of time unless what you are selling will appeal to anyone, anywhere. The real question should have been, where can I find a reputable email list that is targeted to my area of focus and, therefore, more likely to bring me qualified prospects.

    hi

if a list has a base price of $100/M

does this mean that it costs $100 per million email address or per thousand email address?

    thanks
