Hello everyone, it's Scorp again, and this time I'm talking about Blogs and General marketing. You don't need to ask why people blog, it's easy to find out, ask your neighbour. Why do webmasters blog on the other hand.. well.. Oops, couldn't find 10.. please help me out and add more! 6 Advantages for blogging: Content is the king! - We know this and it's obvious, internet was made for it's way of sharing information, nowdays it's more of a comercial playground with big guns. Reply if you agree with me on this or not. You site visitor will look for information, for content, sites that lack in content are definetly on another kind of niche, or just wrong! Easiness - How many of your friends have a blog well they talk about their cooking mastery, or how attractive they find themselves to women ? Well, most, and even though I took it to the humour side, it's easy, it's fast, and it's .. free! Take a look at wordpress.com or blogger.com, you'll find your answer there. The way it works - I find it way easier to grab a comment on an article I create on my blog, than wait for someone to register on my multi-complex site. It's just the human nature, they are bored and lazy, and we will talk more about this in the end. Viral marketing - I just asked my friend Anna to drop by and spread the article I made about jewlery to all her friends, she did that and was pretty easy to grab some attention, comments and with a commented post goes more comments. Would be alot harder to ask her ask her friends to register for my webdirectory and submit their favorite links. SERPs - From my own experience, a blog gets links way easier than any other site, since it's content based, you'll get links on related articles, not on main page, thus increasing your SERPs as well nicely. Digg - Here comes the cherry on the cake, well, I had like nearly 100 uniques/day on my entertainment blog, was ok, I didn't care that much, the mainsite is what I was focusing on, but after I've subbmited my article to Digg, the traffic went BOOM, skyhigh, like over 5000+. It went down in a few days, but still I'm getting around 1k constantly, and guess what? Tons of backlinks! 1 Disadvange: Creating articles - Big webmasters pay someone in the niche to create the articles getting more original and unique content, and well hoping they can linkbait with it, so it requires either a great knowledge about the niche and time to write your own articles or money. Bottom point, if anyone has a different opinion or just wishes to add something, feel free to throw it up.
I think the disadvantage can be easily replaced with an advantage. Its not necessary to hire someone to write an article for you. If you know the material then by all means, you can write it yourself.
Thank you, well, as for what Bestmiler said, I agree on that, but what if you just are not interested in the niche, and you are making blogs for money? It's a disadvantage, can be turn out in an advantage if you like the niche and willing to learn more, so true! Still waiting on more advantages .. ^_^
Blogs are easy to create and maintain and are search-engine-friendly, it allow you to interact with your customer base as blogs are interactive in nature.
blogs get indexed faster, and you can get traffic not only from search engines like google, but also from services as technorati or bloglines increasing your back links and traffic and readers
If you use WordPress specifically, then the possibilities are endless when working with blogs. With all the different plugins, you can do so many things that will make your website more effective than a non-blog site. Plus, it's FREE Some advantages of WordPress blogs (and blogs in general really)...automatic Google SiteMap generation, smart pinging, auto social posting, drip feeding content, multiple user login capabilities to add content at will, commenting for community interaction and stickiness, and other "fun" things such as polls and forums can all be added to WordPress blogs. Yes, right. Most of my friends and some relatives have been running personal blogs for quite a long time now, I mean highly ranked ones... And you know what - they've written all the content by themselves, it is a matter of creativity and linguistic skills (and I guess, a congenital flair of what would be interesting in your "niche"). Nah, I almost forgot - I liked your article - nice, neat, intriguing.
Feel free to grab articles from my blog as well, you might fine something interesting, I'm into the concept "Content is the king" and if I can't find an "amazing" subject, which I don't go for most of the times, at least I make something unique and most of all personal-impression. Something said from your point of view will grab way more attention than a formal article.
I agree. I just started a blog myself a week or so ago. Gonna try to get it to 10 posts or so before releasing it to the wild. I enjoy writing, so fortunately that one disadvantage doesn't apply to me. Of course this is just one blog, if I were managing a large number of web sites, it could be pretty overwhelming!
Well what i think, the disadvantages some time, got to about advantages, people (Big Webmasters) pays good money for writing the articles also. So if you cannot become cool webmaster overnight, you should be able to earn some pretty cool bucks. i think they are paying some what between 5-25$ per article. Depend upon the Big Bro!!!
You mean *.blogspot.com *.wordpress.com ? Oh well, they need to get popular, maybe in time they will ask for fees or they find something even smarter to grab money out of you. Still blogging is getting into that trend where everyone has to have one, scares me so much I added Exotic Dances to my Entertainment blog.
