Why do "Entertainment" sites have such poor eCPM ?

Does anyone else ever wonder why entertainment sites have such low eCPM ?
Hollywood and other advertisers spend a gazillion dollars on movie promotions and other related advertising yet it doesn't seem to flow over into the online world.

Do you think this will ever change ?

I guess this more competition is on the adsense side (not advertisers).

Obviously. It's all about the usual economics: supply versus demand. Too much supply makes the price go down.

I find it that for common template driven entertainment sites the eCPM is lower than for custom made ones, beacuase its almost like duplicate content, so adsense probably doesnt like that as much.. just a theory..
