I am planning to start a small hosting company. If someone know how to setup one plz help me.I don't want to buy a server myself. But plan to buy some VPS or else.I need some great and low cost deals. HELP !!!
Hm, well Id start with a business plan and then a marketing plan. Have you done your market research? Do you have the required capital? Consider legal fees (forming the LLC), server costs, support helpdesk costs, logo design, website design, advertising, domain reseller account, billing software, affiliate software, merchant / credit card fees and accounts, etc There is a lot more to it than just a VPS. I suggest you head over to http://www.webhostingtalk.com and browse around for awhile and learn as much as you can.
The hosting market is so over crowded you will need a really unique way (ie, business plan) to attract GOOD customers. Not all customers were created equal. Don't just get a reseller account, whack up a site, create some low cost plans and expect to make money.
Hello pulikuttann, remember the most important part of hosting is having 99.9 percent uptime. Good luck.
Yes, that and your money back guarantee I do 30 day money back guarantee myself and that seems to work pretty well be very active on WHT, get a decent directory submitter and a good template and your gonna need a decent support response time
start with "private label" reseller plan. Buy some space from hosting company like LYPHA.com, and sell the space/domain. earn some money. good start.
Thankz alot friend.I like this site a lot and I am planning to start with them.If u have some affiliate/coupon then plz do PM me !!!!
You're dodging some key questions. Do you have a business and marketing plan? "Do you have the required capital? Consider legal fees (forming the LLC), server costs, support helpdesk costs, logo design, website design, advertising, domain reseller account, billing software, affiliate software, merchant / credit card fees and accounts, etc"
noone can help you unless you have a strategy and marketing plan, what will be your audience and what service you are going to provide?
Very difficult right now to start up a hosting business unless you have a unique niche or angle or a way to get a specific group of customers by having an existing relationship with a locality or particular group/industry. You can't get started on price, because the big players are basically giving virtual hosting accounts away; as a startup, can you provide service for a 3-year ROI as some of the big guys are doing now? You can't get started on numbers alone, as again, the big guys can afford to give huge amounts of bandwidth and space by averaging out over many many customers. If you start up this way with only limited resources. Quality is the main thing that can set a small host apart, but it takes some time to build up a base of good customers to build your reputation on quality, and while doing it you will have to invest a lot of time and money...
