For what its worth... Just wondering if anyone else has been served an ad whose titles were in italics and not in bold. I noticed this variation (once) for the first time tonight. My initial response was positive, in that it looks a little more like a news format than an ad format. I'm guessing its just another variation they are testing, similar to the color "ads by google" tag. BTW -- it was on a 160 x 600 skyscraper, and all the titles were in italics.
I have seen them in all formats and generally in those pages which have multiple Adsense blocks. I prefer the bold title.
I have seen on my page in 468x60 block ad without bold title but it wasn't italic, it was normal font, it looked great, much better then bold title
Well I have seen it elsewhere, but on none of my sites yet. I can't really see the point in the italics myself...
I saw some (italics) on the ads on one of my sites yesterday -- thought I'd messed something up and big G would be down on me -- oh well I won't worry about that then! Why would they bother? Doesn't make much difference?
Do you know if they're going to keep it italics? (because I matched most of my text similar to the adsense format... (bold underline with smaller font below). If they change it, I'll have to redo my coding a bit...
I think they are mixing up the ad format styles (bold, italics, etc) because of the fact that publishers were trying to tie it in with thier content to much, this way you cannot
Good point, it does make the ads faily noticable when you are trying to blend them with same page fonts, sizes, and colours.
they have gone bold, italics, G image. i think they're just a way to keep visitors attracted. many of us have become ad blind
..aha.. there is method in their madness after all -- that's certainly one reason for mixing things up!
Was just thinking of starting a thread about this Saw them yesterday around "town" and today on some of my sites!! I agre with JKE, italics is shit
I think the none bold, none italic looked odd...just the same as the other text, but underlined. Not sure if anyone else has seen this.
There is a real picture with this italic titles on this other thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=255145
