PR, Page Rank, is a ranking factor the Google gives if your site is pretty relevant enough. For somehow, it affects more on the sites that link you. If you're linked from CNN.com, better except a great PR. SERP, Search Engine Result Pages, are the results displayed whenever you do organic search in Any search engine. For example, you search for term: paris hilton, then hit search. the list of sites displayed in a page is what mainly composes a SERP.
i m not agree with u.pr is calculated only bases of back links.if u have more back links from higher pr pages than u will have high pr in next pr updates.it is not depend on content of the pages.
PR is Page Rank of web page. Serp is search engine result page. Serp dispalys the result of search of any particular keyword
wow.. isulong & jana are so expert in these thing just a tips i like to add here. a good domain name + backlink + pagecontent + title = good PR + serp position
I believe there are 3 factors about this discussion; 1- as PR; we tend to speak Toolbar PR usually which does not represent the actual PR of a page since it changes timely when TBPR changes not sooner than every 3 months. Those 2 are only close during the period TBPR is updated(like a month ago) 2- PR is only 1 factor affecting SERP's when there are tons. Like page title and keyword density are greatly important. 3- There are tons of faked PR sites around so if you ever look into them comparing their PR and SERP rank, it will only confuse you.
I mean, better expect a great PR. (cant find the edit button ) this has to be observed. but i kind of agree with this. it doesn't matter if you have a million words to say but all your BLs are crap. And it really doesn't matter if you got a million words to say but all that you're saying is crap.
