As you are new to all this, let me say that servage is a top overseller. They say they can offer such huge resources as they have "clustered" setups...but for that price its simply not possible. They have a daily cap on hits...if you exceed that you're suspended.

As you want to start a forum, I'd suggest using linux hosting as they it's cheaper yet more stable than windows hosting.

Also, as an advice, I think HostGator baby plan should be enough to suit your needs of a new forum.
Check Hostagtor Reviews and Coupons by DP users and save some money if want you order.

I have been with servage and it has been great except for that limit mentioned above if you have high traffic. One thing I am pleased also with is their security.

Use this coupon to get 25GB extra when signing to your space.

    Goodluck.

Poor schools must use cheaper and non overseller hosts.

Or they must ask the students to pay their school hosting bills

or they must not have a site and they need not to.

personally - i really dislike servage.net. its horrible if you are a freelancer and you have to go in and figure out which sql server they are using and so on. little time wasting things like that i find very annoying.

professionally - they are established and they have a good standing rep among other hosting solution company’s.

Everyone chooses hosts on their personal opinion, not their professional reasons, at least for a host like Servage.

I emailed them for those limits and here is the answer:

    400,000 hits per day
    20,000 SQL updates per hour
    50,000 SQL questions per hour

400,000 hits is something you should be concerned.

If you have a page with 25 images, and that single page is loaded, it'll count of 26 hits.
