Does anyone have advice on where to post help wanted jobs for graphic artists and manga artists? Just some background - I've tried on artwanted.com, on onlinecomics.net, and also on guru.com. On Guru.com, I usually get offers for people to develop my site entirely, but rarely only a graphic artist. What I'm looking for is to hire someone to do some custom graphic work, and also an artist skilled in Manga-style to create some characters. Either I get no response, or when I do get a response, its "yes I'm very interested" and then I never hear from them again. My last request asked for 3 characters. I asked the artist to provide an estimate of time and also their rate. I'm trying to be as flexible as possible with my request, to respect their creative process. I'm still developing my site, so time isn't critical anyway. I guess what I'm asking is what, if any, is the best site to try and contract a designer and/or Managa artist for work? You could try sites like istockphoto.com that have lots of cartoon stock images and when you find pictures that you like, contact the author and ask if they will do a custom job - I have done this in the past and it worked out fine.
