Contact the IRS. Specifically visit this link to find the E.I.N. application page.

You can just use your SSN. Unless you want to incorporate and start your own business, you dont need a federal tax ID for your business.

Just use your SSN. Thats what they are asking for.

    i found this in google:

Why is a taxpayer ID required?
In accordance with U.S. tax law, you must provide a valid Taxpayer ID (the Employer Identification Number for established businesses or your Social Security Number for sole proprietorships) in order to receive payment from Yahoo! Publisher Network.

    so what should i eieve?

Call the IRS up. Believe it or not, they are VERY helpful and can give you the right answers. They set me up in 2002; I am established as an LLC.

Why keep asking that question here? The IRS is the FINAL word on this topic. Are you going to rely upon the wisdom of anonymous DP replies?

You can use your SSN if you don’t want to get a Tax ID but if you decide to get a tax id it will cost you about $50 25-30 for your factitious business name and 20 to list the business name in one of the newspapers this is required the tax id you will get for free it should take you about 3-5 days to do this

Good lord, the amount of misinformation. If you don't have a tax id your SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER IS THE SAME THING.
