So I am strongly considering going to pharmacy school. I already have a masters in chemistry. So why I am scared to take the steps? I feel like its too late in life but I know so many who have done stuff so much later.

If it's something you want to do then do it ... age is just a number don't let it hold you back ... don't risk living with regrets!

Many times doctors do not have his/her own practice until around that age. I am 26 and if I had the talent like you, I'd do it! Thirty-one is not old. If you have kids and a wife, it might be a little tougher, but would your economic status be increased substantially by only going to school for say another two years or so?

I don't think it's too late ;) If you think you'll enjoy pharmacy, then go for it.

What are you working at the moment with your masters?

It depends on the person though ;) I've seen really old people (okay.. not that old.. 40?) that are still going to University. IT really depends on how much you love the um... subject/course

Personally, I'm in a rush (I want to finish university 21 or 22 the latest), you'll know what you want ;)

I have been done with my master for some time. I have all my classes for a phd in chemistry but left prematurely due to personal tragedy. That was 3 years ago. It took me a while to say , what the F am I doing and get back on track?

I find pharmacy fascinating simply because I have seen the effects it can have in changing people's lives. I have also seen people misdiagnosed. I am very interested in research and clinical pharmacology.

I'm sorry to hear that. Atleast you are now motivated to go back to school! I'd say go for it since it's something you want to do.

Seeing how you like pharmacy (and making a difference), I think it's a pretty interesting and practical field of chemistry. Not only can you make a difference and discover fascinating things, it's much better than using chemistry for industrial use (polluting the earth!)

I think you should definately go for it! At least try it out and you will see if it is what you want. If you don't even try you could be hitting yourself on your head 30 years later.

I say definitely go for it! What is worst case senario? You'll suck at it and loses a year or two of your life! You will still learn srtuff, get to meet new people and find out new things about yourself.

Best case senario? You will find something that you love and enjoy - and live a happy, prosperous and content life.

Anything is the middle is a bonus :)

I just turned 30, and had breast cancer last year - so, speaking from experience... from someone who has faced the finiteness of life (lol - don't I sound so flippin old....) I say, just do it. Don't let finances and pressure of people's opinion hold you back - if it's something you are keenly interested in the go for it :D

31 years isn't old. There are people going back to do courses in their 40's and even 50's to enahnce their careers or take a new direction.

I don't know... I just don't believe it's the right move to back and study in university... you should start making money.. not opening the books...

I think it will put a lot of your time in to waste. Why not make good use of what you have right now?
