I have some flash videos I need to put on YouTube but they don't take flash files.

    Can anyone recommend a converter?

Ummm....here is a very high-end (read: costly) solution...at least I THINK it will do it:

    http://canopus.com/products/ProCoderSW/index.php

Procoder is a very good format converter. Unfortunately it ranks in the professional/semi-professional category, so it is very expensive.

Just for my edification, when you say "flash videos" are you talking about .FLV files? Or did you manage to pack them entirely into an .swf file?

Another idea you might try...I recall recently reading the mplayer (the open source media player) can capture just about anything that is played on your screen. If you can "play" the video, and then you can capture it with mplayer, you can then use your favorite converter to put it in the media format of your choice. Keep in mind I have never done this...but I just was putting the pieces together in my head and "theoretically" it looks like it might work, though I cannot vouch for the quality of the video if it DOES work.

Hope something in this mess was helpful to you...

wondershare flash to video converter is a great tool that enables you to convert flash to AVI, MPEG, MP4, 3GP, WMV, and mp3 format. It also has the batch conversion ability which gives you the opportunity to process many files in one time.
You can put a customized watermark on the output file which prevents other people from using it.

Yeah. the PDA thing is a must. We had some video clips stored on a razor which had a gp3 format (I believe it was) and using bluetooth we moved them to a PC, ran them through Super and converted them to mpg for web use.

    Great tool.
