Yes many people just fear the failure... they are scared to dare...
You can't get anywhere if you don't dare.... you will always stay where you are...

“The number one reason people fail at running a business is lack of knowledge”. That’s the only thing I learned in my intro to business class.

Its like Philip Bauer told Graham on the tv series 24: Sometimes you have to make adjustments. In some cases, you need to readjust your strategy.

It is easy to get outflanked on the Internet. One minute your business is doing fine, and the next thing you know, a competitor is pushing a project that hurts your business. When this happens, and the trend is moving towards your competitor, does it make sense to fight them?

You should never strike unless you know you can win. Most people don't have what it takes to succeed. They are either too afraid to start, or they give up at the first sign of failure.

But I have to admit, it is hard when you fail over, and over, and over again. Some people just give up. It is at this point that the strong are truly separated from the weak.

When I get hit with problems(which is often) I might get depressed and stop for a while, but I take the time to rest and think things through. I mull over the problem and figure out a solution. But I never give up.

I'm not going back to being a wage slave. I've been doing this for two year, and come hell or high water, some how, some way, I'm getting a piece of the pie. Failure is not an option.

I agree. If you don't know the business, you should not be risking money in it. I want to do an online game project, and i have a great idea, but I don't know enough about the business. Until I've researched the game development process, and until I know what consumers want, I'm not spending a penny on it.

A lot of entrepreneurs end up losing their shirt because they take too many risks, and they don't take the time to calculate. I guess the successful person is somone who can balance risk with caution. They are not so scared of failure that they do not try, but they are not willing to take blind risks either. They research the market to find out if their is a demand, and they look at supplies. Everything is about research. You have to know what the people want. It isn't about what a business person wants.

Most people are not used to failure. Thats why they give-up easily. Its not how you many times you fail, its how many times you stand up.

There is a quote I like to say.

There are two kinds of people,

    The people who go down.

And the people who stay down.

If you understand failing.... then you will realize it's just a step towards success.

Everybody fails.. nobody is successful from the first shot...

The idoits are who give up and say... I can't do it.. or I suck, I should go get a job....

Great thread - so many entrepreneurs on here!

I think these days there is more competition than ever, but more diverse opportunities than ever before also.

The internet presents such an opportuntity for someone with a dream and some persistance...

There are so much opportunities on the net... ti's not funny.
If you get online for the first time in your life today. I bet you will be making 200-400 dollars a day in 1-2 years.....

As long as you don't give up... nothing is impossible. :)

    I love your last sentence.

What would happen if the babies didn't get up when they fell while trying to walk for the first time?

    Cheers!

Exactly.. if babies don't give up.. and even though they fall time after time....
Then what about these losers who sit down and cry about failing...
