Hey Scott How come I missed that..My Bad. I did not tell you about it. Its a powerfull free method to earn an income from affiliate marketing.

All you have to do is write articles on long tail keywords which has less competition and then submit it to ezinearticles and other such directories. You are not allowed to put your affiliate link in your article so you will also need a blog and then point visitors to your blog.

Sign up for http://www.bummarketingmethod.com/ its worth.

    Regards

Thats a old method and doesnt seem to work anymore. Did you try it out ? Whatever keywords we look for is already saturated with competitors :p

There are millions of products out there that people buy every day, of which all the different ways to promote them through article marketing don't even have a single article written targetting them :) I regularly put up new articles that have very little competition on the article site I put them up on, much less optimized results for the phrase itself. As the saying goes, there's a million ways to skin the cat :)

For example, if the phrase "How to put DVDs on your PSP" is taken, you can always go for "How to transfer DVDs on your PSP", "How to convert DVDs to watch on PSP", "How to get DVDs on your PSP", etc etc... there's practically an infinite amount of phrases to try this with :)

    Well take the three

How to put DVDs on your PSP
How to transfer DVDs on your PSP
How to convert DVDs to watch on PSP
How to get DVDs on your PSP

Do you think people search for all those things ?

That's outstanding. I wouldn't mind trying that at all, except .. is the idea to submit a single article to multiple sources or just multiple articles to multiple sources?

Of course, they'd all include the keywords but how do you get targetted traffic to click on particular products?

As far as using article marketing for long tail keywords I can honestly say it does. For one particular phrase I was trying to optimize for I saw that an article from ezine articles was in the top 10, so I wrote an article on that keyword and hoped for the best. Before I knew it my article kicked that guy out of the top 10 and took his spot :)

What he meant was that to write a article on a topic such as "How to convert DVDs to watch on PSP" and submit to a popular article directory like ezinearticles.com . So that that particular article will rank quickly in google when people search for "How to convert DVDs to watch on PSP". This will drive targetted traffic to that particular article. And we can have links pointing to our landing page in the article. This will bring some targetted traffic to our landing page

    Hi

I read the first few pages and the last pages but I'm not really sure what's going on and how you are making your money! Can anyone summarise it please?

I'm going to read the OP's blog in the mean time so I might learn from that too.

Yeah.. I feel your pain, man. I've been cutting way back on spending, trying to maximize ROI by using very targeted keywords and a few other techniques. I am determined to turn $20 into $80 profit here. The problem with ClickBank is consistency, so suppose you have to focus on the average.

My software really helps with having multiple landing pages for only several reviews. It's also going to track keywords that actually lead to sales. Also, it's templated. What do you guys figure that kind of software would go for per copy?

Update since I made that post where I said I spent about $100 with no returns...

Up till today I've spent about $150 on Adwords and had no returns over the past week or so. If this ever happened to me in the past I would have quit at like $50...anyway to get to the point today I got 2 sales worth about $60. So while I'm still in the hole, something is working and I still have a bunch of people on my list. Now it's just a matter of more testing and tweaking to narrow everything down.

    Patience pays off :)

wow great thread. I will definitely keep track of this one.

I am in the same boat with just recently jumping in to affiliate marketing with ppc. I think my biggest issue is coming up with a good landing page, I really have no idea about what it should look like.

I would say that I am nearly breaking even and have not had the success that a lot of you have had. I also do not budget that much per campaign before trying something else. I think depending on the pay out I try to spend 2-3 times the payout to test the waters. I also have a hard time of fully tracking the success of my keywords to conversion especially if some of the sites dont offer id tracking.

Currently, I only use google and yahoo as msn did not work out that well for me. I mainly start with google and then when something is successful I then add it to yahoo. I also start each adwords campaign with content and search clicks until I have enough data to prove that the content network isn't working.

I have yet to find anything as successful as scott.

I am still hanging in there and hope for the best. Ya I definitely agree that I too have found it hard to network with other similar affiliate marketing ppl to help improve my game.

if there are others that want to swap msn to chat, let me know. always interested in learning more.

Once again great thread, definitely helps to keep me going.

Just so you guys know, I've spent about $60 in Adwords (vouchers so far) with $135+ in sales.

The problem I have is finding enough decent products to spend more than a couple dollars per day with Adwords.

I am going to start generating some organic traffic soon...but first I have to get through midterm exams... :(

So guys, I just wanted to give you all an update on my progress. As I found out I was pushing a bit too hard, too fast for the dream, I discovered that I was actually around $700 in the red. You can imagine the look on my face -- from a guy who cringed at the thought of spending $10/day ($300/mo) to profit to a guy who was spenting in excess of $50-100/day and *losing* money, it was a shock to the system.

Nonetheless, I was able to stop my campaigns to re-evalutate and regroup. I've cut my campaigns down to just those that work (the eventual plan anyway) and now I'm profiting around $25/day avg. based on $10-20 of spending.

Sure, I was getting around $100-150 in sales previously but I would be dead each time I got only a few sales in a day where I spent $100.

My new objective is to increase my profit margin as much as possible, which I've been successful in doing over the last week. So now I have a new burst of energy and I feel much better about the direction I'm heading in. My latest advice to the newbies:

Don't get sucked into spending a bunch of money all at once. Sure, spend $10-30/day without having fear, but don't let your spending get out of hand until you are absolutely sure what you're doing. I'm still not COMPLETELY aware of how everything works, I just have a good (75%) idea of what's happening.

Again, don't be afraid of losing money though. You will have days where you spend $20 and make $0 to cover it, but you HAVE to remember that this game is all about averages.

Another mistake I made in the beginning was not keeping track of ALL of my expenses. Now I use Google Spreadsheets on http://docs.google.com to keep track of all my budgetary expenses, from server expendatures to PayPal fees to adsense/clickbank profits. Trust me, it comes in very handy in figuring out what your overall bottom line is. It doesn't hurt to have some experience with statistics either. :)

In conclusion, I will try to keep you guys up to date on my progress thus far. Oh, I almost forgot-- I quit using AdSense and Microsoft Ad Center and I'm focusing just on YSM as I found out I was making most of my profit from it. That was a priceless piece of information to have, so make sure you figure out early on where the majority of your profit is and cut off the stragglers.

    Hope that helps some people.

    Peace out!
