Hi, directory owners What is your budget to boost your directory? My budget is $2K. Do you think if it's enough to promote my directory to PR6? Thanks
With the right links I think is enough to buy it for 1 year. I think you should put more than 10K on the pool
I put $0-$100, not a lot of money right now to waste on directories -- but I think that $100 is more than enough If you use it for at the right places.
I'm currently investing $100 monthly ($9x to be exact). That's minimum now. I do spend more here and there whenever I see a chance. One of my directory is now expected to be PR6. 5.9 to be exact score according to iwebtool. (I know this doesn't guarantee it would be) But the budget, if monthly, it is very possible. If $100 one time, I am not too sure even though there are good deals here at DP on a daily basis. If you could build a PR6 directory with one time investment of $100, I wouldn't be surprised as I know it is possible. But to maintain PR6, I wouldn't feel too secure with $100 only.
I believe a site should be able to pay its own way into improvement. it is very easy to make a couple hundred bucks from any site, even without promotion. As long as you put all revenue back into the site, it can build on its own and you will be nothing out of pocket.
I don't have a set price. I take a percentage of the monthly revenue and put it into various ways of promoting the site
i am definately not one of the big ballers around, but my budget at the moment is close to be 4k ... i think i am doing a good job.
lol... Anymore i have to wonder as ive seen guys that dumped 5-10 Grand easy and thier directory got PR 4-5 while others that spent little to nothing rose to PR6s. The upside is that those guys that spent $$$ will get thiers next round, and i think the ones that got PR6 with hardly any backlinks will lose rank this next round if they havent been getting more quality links. I think 1-5 thousand is good for spending on any directory you promote for the first year thx malcolm
Depends on your time frame ... I expect to be around for the long term, page rank and popularity will build over time --- slowly. If it absolutely has to be there overnight ... then a bigger budget is required.
I have $100-1k monthly for my directories for now. It may be sth like 2-3k monthly in 6 months but i am not planning to spend more that that on directories if i dont earn more than 5-6k monthly from them.
Well said Malcolm and I agree. I budget $400 / month but only spend on something that is a value added wise investment.
I'm on the 4 digits right now and I'm after quality backlinks. They want to check they could. This will be a surprising update again and I agree with your statement. I'll just wait for the next round and see.
