I hear you man. I think it's just the approach you may want to change a little. It seems you went on them too harsh. You don't know them much, and they don't know you either. So, it's good to respect each other before jumping into any conclusion. You've got all the SEO knowledge, and if you want to help people with what you got, then I think you have to even "babysit" newbies sometimes. The more power or knowledge you get, the bigger the responsibility you will have. Think that you are in a high level in SEO, so why not try to be a father for young generation? I am sure you got passion, but passion itself may not convince other people. No need to be harsh on them. You can be a passionate SEO teacher without being sensitive. But I think people will appreciate more and respect you if you are a little more careful in your approach. I know you can do it.
Hi, Here is the report as requested. I, along with many others would appreciate a donation to Caner Research UK Thanks! Chris Title Tag: I would recommend shortening the title tag a little for the users. In a browser and in the search engine listing, the title is cut off. ALT Tags: I recommend adding keywords into a descriptive sentence using the image ALT tags. For example: The logo ALT tag at present is “pages/survival72_logo_title.gif†You could change this to something like: “Survival Supplies Logo†Copy Text: I feel more copy text is needed for the end user and search engines. Write down 10 unique selling points, that differ from your competitors, and write these into a flowing paragraph, adding the relevant keywords. I also see you have a sale on (Within the product pages), maybe add some info to the home page? Image File Names: Adding keywords within the image file names can produce some traffic from Image downloading sites, like Google Images. HTML file names: At present you have file names like: http://www.survivalsolutions.com/store/72 hour emergency kits.html I recommend just using the keywords, separated by using a “-“ You are also using file names such as: http://survivalsolutions.com/store/page6.html for your First Aid Kits page, by implanting keywords into this page you stand a better chance of getting ranked for those keywords. If you decide to change the file names, make sure you keep the existing ones (In case they are listed or have in-bound links) and just add new ones. Internal Links: Instead of using “Home†as a link to point to your index page, try implementing some keywords within the link, such as “Survival Supplies Home Page†Design, usability and navigation: I believe any site accepting on-line payments should look professional to build trust and a bond with the end user, and to overcome fears of buying products/services over the internet with their credit card (Due to bad press re: on-line CC fraud) Your site, along with your competitors, have poor design (No offence!). By making your site look more “professional†you can easily gain an advantage over your competitors. Here are 5 easy to implement changes that will make a difference: 1) Try using a different template – There are thousands on-line for free. 2) Split the links in the left nav bar into sections. 3) Add more columns/rows in the content area, so you can add more products (Most popular), calling this part of the site “featured Products†or something similar. 4) Along with the title, add a short description to the featured products area. 5) Try and size all the images the same. Some sort of image boarder will also make the images stand out. Navigation: The first question I asked myself when I opened the site was where are you located? Are you able to deliver your products to me in Thailand? What are the rates for delivery/packing? None of these questions could easily be answered within a click away from the home page. Building Links/Targeted traffic: In the Keyword report I sent over, there are many keywords that have searches with no competition. You could easily write some articles around these keywords, such as: “recommended items first aid kit†With a couple of links, from your home page and some other sites, you can get these article pages in the top 3 search engine results, especially Google. While this will not generate huge traffic, it will add more content to your site and may generate more brand awareness. While also working with the keyword list, try and come up with some link bait ideas you can use with Digg.com and so on. For example, you could write an article on “The most expensive Health Clinics in the world†“Celebretites Doctors†“The most devastating Earthquakes†“The top 10 camping sites in the world, and why†You could also contact health related sites and ask whether they would like to exchange reviews with your site (This will provide some great material to add to your index page). Before doing so, write a couple of reviews and add them to a page of your site, maybe call the page “The best of the best health sitesâ€. Sites may see this as a compliment, as you are referring there site as one of the best, which may result in exchanging reviews/links. Remember: A review is more powerful than a simple text link on a links page, in terms of traffic being sent to your site, so try and get reviews instead of just standard links. Submit the site to directories. It’s a boring job, and may cost a couple of dollars but I think the links you will get will help with the overall campaign. Here is a list of the strongest Directories: http://www.avivadirectory.com/strongest-directories/ I also have a list of 700 free directories, please contact me if you would like the list.
Wow, SeoBangkok. That's quite a report for a free service. Can you have a look at my site too? The market I'm targetting is quite small and very targetted. I'll PM you the site if you'd give it a nod. Thanks. Manuel
See - did that hurt so much? Now I am also happy to say there is nothing to fear from the advice. It is, though limited, fine in it's quality... Good Show Bankok... that's how U make a name fer yourself... be transparent... I have had the snot kicked outta me here and there in the SEO community... but it's how it has to be done. Too many shady providers out there. Ya gotta put it out there for the people... so they know who you are and how you do things and what your beliefs (strategically) are... Glad U played along.. best wishes
Whats with the guru crap in this thread, every man and his dog has an seo blog and forum posts that doesn't mean anything. The top seo's are not the ones blogging about it there the ones taking the most searched for keywords in the serps. The guy was just offering a free service, no need to jump on him
That's your opinion M8 - mine is that BAD SEO can destroy a site and a persons hard work and income they use to feed their family.... It also tarnishes the industry I work in. This is a forum.. full of good ol IMO - so I have posted mine.
If somebody is stupid enough to rely only on search engine traffic thats there fault. Even so its gotta be some REALLY bad seo to destroy a site from G,Y and MSN. If he was giving out these kinds of site threatening seo tips im sure the person would realize its bad advice. Just don't see why you needed to police the guy, by what you was saying just looked like you was trying to boost your ego imo ofcourse Talking about not being able to feed your family from bad seo is a bit extreme though
I don't mind providing you with a report, as long as you promise to donate something to Cancer Research UK PM me the URL and the keywords you are currently targetting.
I did say 2 times in my previous posts: I'm letting the webmaster decide whether they want to publish the report or not. If the webmaster sent the details via PM, I'm not going to publish his site on a public forum - That's not fair, that is up to him to do so or not. Anyway, no harm done. If you ever venture out to Bangkok, make sure you PM me so we can meet up for a beer!
Well sorry but your post may fit into the 'crap in this thread'. There are many swindling coyotes who prowl forums looking for prey with wallets. Being careful never hurt and no one was slandered or put down. It is just nice to see the merchandise and the whole deal. BTW thanks for stopping by Hahaha that was funny. For a moment there I thought you were serious, you were joking right? It appears SEOBangkok was not offended so I suggest you drop this. If he is fine with it you should be too.
Sorry but im not the one banging on about owning blogs and having high post counts like im some kind of authority. What you say makes no sense, who says thegypsy isnt the "coyote", who says what he says is right? Oh i forget, he has seo blogs he must be I wasnt offended
Since when have I 'banged on about owning blogs'. That is a ridiculous statement. And as for Gypsys validity as a Seo well I think his sites and posts can account for that. Owning a seo blog means nothing, running one and providing quality seo articles and ideas does. You decide and again if the OP is okay with it by shouldn't you? Are you his lawyer?
Here is where I have a problem...made up keyword terms...I see a lot of this misdirection given to webmasters and it's a complete waste of time. No data for phrase: recommended items first aid kit Nobody is searching for the phrase so that is why there is no competition. The SEO makes up the keyword term, and if need be has some searches done...to show the unsuspecting client. He then ranks the page for these non-competitive terms, and the client seems happy till they soon realize the terms drive no traffic. By this time the client has wasted over 6 months or more and the SEO industry is again tarnished. Here is where the whole thing comes full circle...you get the SEO report for free... but the directory list requires e-mail address, so you can be marketed too again in the future. If the list is of 700 directories... which are all free... you should give it to everyone. Here is a free resource should anyone want it...it's not mine and I don't know whose it is but I like it http://www.best-web-directories.com
I didn't say you did, i wasn't talking about you...No im not his lawyer this is a forum thegypsy was saying his piece and so was i. Maybe you are his lawyer? You seem to know all about his great sites.
Sounds like you are jealous, although you shouldn't be... You can have a free report to I did the keyword research on Word Tracker, If you don't know it, I'd recommend checking it out: www.wordtracker.com - It's the number 1 mistake webmasters make - Not understanding the importance of selecting the right keywords. Yes, I do need the email address as I can not send the keyword research or list of directories via PM.... The files are to big! Also, anyone can have a list of the directories, as long as you are willing to donate something to Cancer Research UK. If not, do a search, you will find many out-dated lists out there! It makes me laugh people trying to pick holes anywhere they can... I put it down to jealousy... You always seem to get these people everywhere you go... you just wished you had thought of the idea first, you hate seeing me get a little praise for my good doing... I feel sorry for you.
I sure hope that last part weren't at me M8 - I made nicey nicey - it sure don't mean I am jealous... I could do a better report in my Pjs before 9am - but then again, mine cost a few $$$ Please do elaborate on whom that last bit was directed at please... I would advise not getting Visio going either.. he's also got a nasty streak and is, as far as I am concerned, one of the more knowledgable SEOs round here..... I doubt he is jealous either... Do tell.....
Okee dokee Pricing - To be honest it varies by the site..obviously a larger site targeting (or not targeting) more KWs/Phrases is more.... so the size of the site/report comes into play... With us (mid-range SEO firm) it's only around $200 but that doesn't include much in the way of an action plan. More analysis and core recommendations Some folks it runs in $500-1000 range... ouch.. but once again, they are VERY comprehensive. I don't believe in hitting every little nail on the head.
