i do every thing manually, i have staff that dose the job by hand.
using these bots and scripts can be very harmful,

we have people that go to the public computers and install the alexa toolbar and surf websites. this is a manual job, $10 is not that high to check it out i guess!!

Hey, never ever get into this mess. IMHO it's of no use at all.

Actually use of alexa rank is to show you the traffic [genuine] to your site. If you raise it artificially, that doesn't mean you will be getting heavy traffic. Also it is not an etical practice. So be careful while choosing this option. All the best.
