PR5 is a new PR0, i would say coz to get PR5 is pretty straight forward i.e. submitting to few good directory, and there you go, a new PR5,
I guess my questioned was answered. But I have some sites that are PR 4 and getting tons of hits from Google. I just wish Google could find a new way to determine the worth of a site. PR needs a major facelift, because the fact is, PR was a good measure a while back.
You won't sell many links based purely on PR4, you need to have some decent content too. I have a couple of PR4 sites (and a PR3 site) with links sold-out for some time now. Sites are around a year old with nice content. PR is just one part of the value of a link.
Lemme rewrite your question a la Carrie Bradshaw style of writing: << Today we see new websites being accorded PageRank 5 the moment they came online. The pariahs of yesterday's 2-page loser with just 4 backlinks suddenly get PageRank 7. With these new websites with commendable PageRank came at your doorstep selling PR5 backlinks at the price of a cup of machiato in the West Village, I can't help but wonder, "Is PR5 the new PR0?" >>
PR may not have significant importance to ranking but still it counts for very competitive keywords...
Even I dont think PR is dat important...with millions of sites on the internet...U can exprect a single company to rank each and every blog or website...It is obvious that the content is the most important factor!!
PR is not important but still people love to have higher PR But ya dude what a observation PR4 is new PR0 even I have seen about 10k sites having PR4 but very few having PR6 so I think PR5+ is the real PR, PR4 is now common anyone can get it
Does one get a PR above 5 by writing good very original content? What are the ways of getting a high PR?
I'm seeing more and more PR4 sites as well. A lot of people have been questioning the valididty of PR lately, though.
Writing good original content will get you good PR indirectly. PR is directly related to the quality of inbound links to your site. The higher the quality the incoming links, the higher is your PR Back to the topic, I do not agree that PR4 is PR0 in terms of link sales or SERP. A PR4 text link certainly worth more than PR0. The real challenge in selling text links is not the PR value, it is how we package and show our customers.
I think PR still has importance... for examle: If you do link exchange, you want to make it with sites that have pr4 or more meaning, the site will be doing well or isn't spammy. so the webmaster is working on that site so it will grow. If you see pr0,1,2 sites you know there may be something wrong especially if they are older. Also PR can define authority sites as well.
i must admit, millions of sites all seem to now have PR4. i have a couple of PR5 links but most of my site is PR4.
im hoping for pr6 next update...but i need pr5 first i also agree pr isnt everything, hardly at that. you can have a realy quality site with pr0
