i mean the possibilities are endless. how and why are people coming to your sites? it would depend ont he keywords you are using to optimize with adsense, that makes the most difference. why not try it out, those are free to put on
You're basically saying 1500 uniques day. Totally depends on the niche (some niches pay higher AdSense, YPN, etc. than others), the type of site, and the CTR. Could make a couple bucks (MySpace resource site), could make hundreds.
It is a video game fan site and it is very active. What niches make more/less money and why? 1500 daily uniques is still 1500 daily uniques, no? And what is CTR? BTW, thanks for all the responses, this is a great site/resource... I am a newb (as you guys can all tell)...
Technology (hardware, software, services like hosting), Finance and Travel are all pretty high payers. But they are very competitive
I guess to be very specific, so I can get the best advice from you wise men of this board I just bought a maple story fan website that has among other things, a forum, game guides, etc...and it averages about 45000+ uniques per/month and 300,000+ hits/day...the original owner had not done any advertising on it.... What can I do to better this operation in terms of marketing, advertising, and what could I potentially make? Thanks in advance
The more profit the advertiser has potential for realizing, then usually the higher competition and the more advertisers are willing to pay you per click. Think about the product. Sites relating to real estate, mortgages, technology, travel, small business, etc... If you can draw traffic to sites like these you can be pretty sure about getting higher dollar clicks than an arcade site.
rollotomasi82, I dont mean to go off topic, but have you considered ads for all of those free online membership games out there? My favorite sort of gaming site is www.newgrounds.com. They are really a flash content site for animated movies and games. If you poke around at the site you will see ads for various membership online games like adventure quest. Im sorry I cant help you more with more specific info as far as rates and CTR, but some of these ads have been on the site for YEARS so they are definitely converting well. It would also be good for you to see what other ads are selling there; They get LOTS of traffic and make BANK! hope that helps and please ignore if it isnt the info you're looking for.
Avoid using hits because it has no real significance. In terms of earnings based on 45,000 uniques is hard to say and would depend on so many variables such as CTR, ad placement,cpc, etc.
