A source of income, or a primary source of income? Anyone that puts AdSense on their blog has a source of income at that point.
Yep. A partial source of income - but it's growing: I use AdSense (of course), Amazon and private sponsorship. Don't think too many bloggers will ever get to the stage of earning their primary income from blogging only.
My blog earns enough to pay its hosting costs which is alright and more than I ever expected of it (it was and still is a fun thing to do).
Yep, I'd be happy if the blog part of my business can pay for hosting and my broadband connection for the year - it's about half way there. Anything more, and it's a bonus.
Mine pays for our vacations, its hosting, our home broadband, and IRA payments, but I won't be quitting my day job any time soon.
Yes... http://blog.jeremyandkelly.com It's certainly not monumental income, but it is good enough. Plus it gives me some place to talk about completely stupid things and get into arguments with people about the stupid things I have said. I'm always intrigued by the fact that someone feels a comment I made on some worthless blog is important enough for them to waste part of their life bitching about. The shameless self promotion helps the site earn money. Sick, very sick indeed. YMMV.
No direct income. But it's provides lots of extra traffic and a huge bump in exposure which means I keep the advertisers I have happy and can continue to charge premium rates for new clients. So in a small sense it helps add to my income but very indirectly - as a value add. I have kind of a unique business model. Does that make any sense?
I see my blog as a "free of ads" zone, same goes for my other personal site. I could put adsense or something on them but I think it would turn away my regular visitors and to be honest I'm not trying to make money from my blog anyway. The only thing I've ever tried out is link exchange networks like SimpleAds, but unfortunately they always seemed to include somewhat undesirable blogs that I didn't really want to be linking to.
Blogging has a lot of benefits... I dont use it as a source of income, but it does contribute indirectly.
Definitely. Directly and indirectly. http://www.realseo.net/ htttp://www.floobo.com/ and http://www.ithinkapple.com/ Those three blogs make me a total of about 15$ / day. Then I've got my 'not blog' blogs... like http://www.whichhost.org and http://www.betadot.com/ (now in Google News! ) which do a bit more.
AdSense on blogs is great, as your users get ads on what THEY post - now that is targetted advertising. And with full pages all over, what could be better? Also, I make enough to pay my host, and buy better things for my sites as well, so it has to be good.
i have a free website, and if i add adds from google on it they will pay me? and does it cost anything to me?
I don't make as much from my blog as I do from other sites I run adsense on. However, in many respects, I would say that my blog contributes to my overall earnings indirectly.
