Selling a site for how much????

hi guys i have a site which is making around 230$ a month, i wanted 2 know for how much should i sell it?????i got a offer of $1600 but i want 2 sell it for 2K atleast.

I'm sure you'll get $2K if you are making $230 a month.

You can usually get 10-12 months revenue, sometimes more, it depends on the site. Best idea if you are serious about selling is posting it for sale on DP and a few other forums.

 

I think you should get for it 2K easy... don't sell it for 1.6K... 8 months you can get that cash normally...

Why do you have to sell it if you're making money?

 

If it is a proxy, then I would say its worth $1800. If its a proxy resource, topsite, or doesnt have a proxy script actually on the site, then $2200 to $2400 is how much its worth (in theory). Best thing to keep in mind is a sites only worth how much a buyer is willing to pay.

Proxy sites tend to be sold at 6x month's revenue-8x month's revenue. Especially if they aren't very old.

Look at sitepoint auctions and dp buy/sell forums to get an idea how the prices are going.

 

I don't think it's right to sell one site to start the other.... you aren't going anywhere like this....

I agree. Why don't you just work on establishing the site more and making more revenue with the site rather than just selling it out right now (unless you really really need the money). Buyers only buy it because they want to make more than what they paid for it so.. you know, it's pretty logical

what we do in real business world is this, we project future profits for 1 year, add current price of the website and u have the present market price of your business.

That said, if your website makes 230$ per month, you should 12*230 + value of the script + domain + design etc + your time and effort = market price.

Btw guys its 245$ earning for Feb 2007 so any1 out there for a gd revenue site grab it

I sold a 2 month old site that made $3 a day for $3000..so i'm sure you can sell it for atleast $2000

 

You have to look at it in business terms though. If the content is good and easily renewable or original and not needing review you can sell it for heaps. If the site has gone past its best days then you won't get the two grand. But my idea is look for around 2500 dollar sale price.
