The Holy scriptures

    Hello everyone....
when determining the ways of God i believe that the ENTIRE Bible should be read and taken seriously not just parts of it. It seems that there is a trend of designer religions that take Gods son, Jesus Christ, out of the scriptures and reshape him to suit.
    What do you think?

When you read the Bible I recommend you pray to the Holy Spirit first. Let Him lead you.

Yes good point.... definitely must have the help of the Holy Spirit. It helps to truly believe that God has inspired them too.

This is when the windows of our soul are suddenly swung open. When our minds are suddenly pierced. When our hearts are deepened.

You know, sometimes I read the Scripture and I find myself saying, Wow, this wasn't here before!!!

I believe this is the work of the Holy Spirit who allows us these epiphanies on different levels and at different times through His perfect understanding of our needs and maturity.

But if you are praying to the Holy Spirit, then technically you are praying to Jesus, since the Holy Spirit, Jesus and the Father are the Trinitarian God that christians profess...

Is this maybe a way of recognising a friend in faith, a deep respect for the truth, and the Spirit at work within us.
I love this wonderful unveiling aspect that God instructs us with ...when he feels we are ready to move into a deeper understanding.:)

lol... For some reason I don't think those scriptures were the ones at hand....

On a more serious note, I think that you should read all of the scripture. Otherwise it is like reading one lesson in a course book. You can't learn everything based on 5-10 pages...

It has been great to find you....i have just come from a website where i got a grilling for quoting scriptures off topic. ..the worst thing about it was it was a spiritual website. I am hoping there is more freedom here. :)

Kae, you'll get a lot of that here too from certain members, but I think you'll find you won't get censured for it by the moderators, so, by all means, quote away.

Mat 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

    Guyz!

Why don't you read the Bible carefully, again, again, and again! Then, do the same thing to the Koran. :D

I have read the Koran... It is pleasant enough. But I find it is devoid of inspiration. It is man-made.
