Whats the benefit of getting your articles indexed first?

    Ive seen on this board that it is best for the search engines to index your articles before article directories. Why ?

    Because article directories are given less weight than the article appearing on your own site.

    Ive heard its mostly due to the fact that if it is indexed by the Article Directory first you will get a Duplicate Content penatly, pretty much, the SE will think you copied the article from the Article Directory instead of the other way around...
