for a one man show website plentyoffish.com has to be close to the top but sites like digg and myspace have to be raking in even more!
There are a lot of people out there "Making" or "Earning" big figures from AdSense but you need to keep in mind, how much of that is "Profit". Many of these "big earners" are also "big spenders" paying thousands of dollars a month to drive traffic to their sites. I know Shoemoney is heavily into PPC (though I'm not sure what sort and how much, if any, expenditure was used to earn his posted check). I know Markus Frind of PoF also has quite a large advertising budget as well, including using offline advertising mediums, even I have heard one of his ads being played on a popular Brisbane Radio show!
That's so insane, I try to target my ads on my site and it's shown some improvments but hey...still trying to build up sufficient amounts for that first check Maybe by summer!
There are a lot of folks just quietly going about their business earning big and not bragging about it in forums or elsewhere on the net. With the right formula, the effort and patience, anyone can do it – without using PPC to drive traffic. The traffic to all of my sites is organic SE traffic that I’ve spent years cultivating. But it’s paid off month after month in high earnings and steady growth. Aside from seeing that it can be done, how much everyone else is making doesn’t help those who are not. It’s a goal to shoot for, but think small and hope big
LOL don't get me wrong even if Markus spent $850,000 of that check on advertising - $50,000 every two months is nothing to sneeze at, I was just pointing out to all the gob smacked people that they may not actually be earning as much as they...
You all think too small. The new york times and its subsidary about.com look at the sitetargeting in adsense, every section about.com is in, is usualy the top of the list for page impressions. And about.com does not display "ads by google" or "advertise here" it simply says "sponsored links". If anybody is making huge money its definatly them. Pierce
also forgot to mention myspace, they make about $25 million on ad revenu each month. and run google ads some of the time. Pierce
There is speculation that out of the 10,000 a day Markus makes as much 8,000 could be spent on ads to drive traffic.
youtube.com might be a good deal huh ? may not beat digg or myspace or about.com but they should be big? Would Google buy them if they weren't good ?
