I came across an ad link format I hadn't seen before. It occurs two times on the following page: http://www.happycow.net/north_america/usa/california/thousand_oaks/index.html Has anyone seen this before? I like it a lot.
Very good observation Chiara. I have never seen such an ad unit before. Could have been customized with help of adsense support.. but may not be a new link format..
I almost didn't realize they were ads since the "ads by google" text is so far away from the actual ads.
I don't think that I would call it a "ad link", since there is no second screen of ads to click. I would call it a new "ad unit" format. Also, only one "ad link" unit is allowed per page. This same new ad format is repeated once again, at the bottom. I think that it looks really good, too. It seems to have a "leaderboard" footprint, but is line oriented.
I was just browsing their site and found two more variations on this ad format. Check out the second and third ad units on this page: http://www.happycow.net/north_america/usa/california/index.html I wonder if that site is a premium publisher.
I too think they're premium publisher... it will be nice if everybody gets like this and certainly the CTR will be good..
holy crap thats some serious ownage.. if that site gets visitors..the owner must be making loads of mony
It looks like they're using a custom script for this and they use google_hints in the ad code so probably a Premium Publisher (or a really stupid violator). Safer to check with Google first
