Published: 2007-02-19 at SecurityFocus The Naval Network Warfare Command pointed to attacks coming from China as the most significant problem for the United States' military network defenders, according to an article published last week in Federal Computer Weekly. Chinese attackers "exploit anything and everything," an unnamed Netwarcomm official told the publication. Attacks which appear to come from China have a variety of motives, including the theft of intellectual property, gathering intelligence, research on the operations of the U.S. military, and the creation of beachheads inside U.S. military networks for future use, the official said. "It’s hard to believe it’s not government-driven," the official told Federal Computer Weekly. This is not the first time that Chinese hackers have been blamed for significant attacks on U.S. companies and government agencies. The majority of targeted Trojan horse attacks, which typically use flaws in Microsoft Office as an attack vector, appear to come from China. The Warezov virus, which infects systems to create a bot net, has all the indications of being the work of a gang of spammers from China. A white paper produced by the Chinese military said the country aims to be able to win an "informationalized war," according to the FCW article.
China is the craziest and most advanced place on earth.. Ofcourse one day they will be able to win any informationalized war..
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer told investors this week that the company would be looking into stepping up efforts to stop the mass pirating of Windows and Office in China. Supposedly the new versions have some kind of new anti-piracy protection but will it combat the problem?
The problem is, if you offer those chinese hacker 50k and a US green card, they will turn against China in a second
Yeah thats what i am worried about China being a country of superpower..their market is just growing and growing at the moment.
there have lots problems too , people dont have freedom there .. did u see any chinese people in u r country? i am living in india near the china a lot indians are going to china for buying cheap products for marketing, but why chinese people cant come to india for sell this ? becouse they dont have permission to go out side of country.
i think when we label someone as a threat, that means for our part we are threatened. this shouldn't have to be the case though. for all we know, china may be feeling threatened too, and they see others as a threat. i guess what im trying to say here is that, let's all work for an absolutely democratized online community.
Why would they come to india while they can go to other country ? How do you know they don't have the permission? I live in New York...and there are Chinese take out place in every 5 block in my neighborhood ...
