Get your free listing in the Copywriter Directory

It appears that since I just joined I can't post live links, so please bear with me...

I've created a niche directory especially for copywriters. Though it was crawled by search engine spiders last night, it hasn't appeared yet in the SERPs.

It will, and soon. I say that with some confidence based on the off-page SEO I've been doing on the site.

For now, listings are free (except featured links), and though greatly appreciated, reciprocal links aren't required, either, unless your site has no PR.

The directory will NOT be free once it's more established, so you can get in now by submitting your site or online resume to the appropriate category:

    Copywriter Directory: http://directory.freelancewebcopywriter.com

    Enjoy,
    David

    David Morgan,

    Nice directory.;)

Though not much content yet available, I am sure it will successfully develop, and very soon. However, the website design needs a bit of improvement - probably if you work on that, it would attract much more visitors to your place.

    Thank you for your share

and have a nice day today:)

I am confident, that it is not necessary to make this directory paid. Where is some design there?

Thank you both for stopping in and checking out the directory.

All I can say is, I'm not much of a designer -- I'm a copywriter. You'll just have to believe me that this is a major improvement over how it looked a few days ago.

But I certainly appreciate your advice and will continue working on the design.

The main thing is that it works.

Whether or not it's paid and at what price is simply a question of perceived value. Just like any other product.

Sure, design can be part of that value.

    Then there's PR.

And then there's what it does for those who get listed in it, beyond a pretty place to see your own name and for the backlink.

I agree that paid directories need to add value, especially if the PR is still low.

For instance, I'm actively marketing it to people who regularly hire freelancers... starting with my own clients, who have too much work for me and no longer bat an eye for what I charge.

I'd say getting noticed by one of these people is well worth the price of admission.

And right now there's no price of admission -- I'm giving out free tickets -- so there's nothing really to complain about, is there...

    Again, here's the URL: http://directory.freelancewebcopywriter.com/

Hi David, I visited your site and signed up as a reciprocal link. I'm not a designer either and any way to get a Website working the way you want as a copywriter I applaud you. My past design experiences have been interesting ;)

Pearly -- I can't wait, either. There's plenty more to come, but not immediately. The directory is "phase one."

jm -- I hope it's successful, too, and I'm working hard to make sure it is. Never put all your eggs in one basket, though -- make sure my site is just one of many (and I mean MANY) related sites where a link to you appears. Then do what you can to make sure the people who come to your site stick.

If you want, you might add "Listed in the Copywriter Directory" with a link in your email signature. When we're new (I'm not saying you are -- just a blanket statement) we need every shred of credibility we can muster, even if it is from some ugly web site.

Best of luck to you, and I'll let you know when more services launch.

Great idea! Sounds like a very respectful ending of a letter. An idea to applaud.;)

I am also very interested in the way the directory will develop.
So keep us in the course.:)

Hey -- thanks for adding the live link! People on this forum are so nice!

And yes, Pearly, I know I'm a lucky fella.

    Okay... drum roll please...

Phase 2 will be up over the weekend: An article bank where we can swap articles on marketing and copywriting. Use them in your newsletter, on your site or blog, in an ebook you've been meaning to write, or whatever.

I'm gathering that some of us could use some help marketing ourselves... maybe could use some extra traffic to our sites...? But maybe you have some good blog posts or other tidbits that you wouldn't mind other people republishing so long as they linked back to you...?

Oh -- a warning -- it's going to be UGLY.

I'll work on a design that will work throughout the site once I get all the pieces in place.

    What do you think?

Okay -- so the article directory is on hold. Looks like there are plenty of article directories already.

I'm having to turn down most sites applying to the Copywriter Directory because they're either irrelevant, or else they have PR 0. Please check your PR first, and if it's 0, submit your site with a reciprocal link.

    Thanks!

Please excuse me if I'm not asking this in the right spot (or if it's a silly question), but what exactly does PR stand for? I am assuming that it stands for 'Page Rank,' and a 0 would mean your site does not show up in any search engines?

(Is it obvious I'm new at all this? ;))

I submitted my site with a reciprocal link. I'm just starting out though, and haven't gotten a real writing job yet... is that going to affect my chance of being accepted into the directory?

PR is Google Page Rank. It's a number Google assigns to your site that factors into where your page appears in search results.

    Your site is listed. Thanks!
