I want my pagerank to be 6. So,I thought of buying links. If i buy 10 PR7 links will my Website gets PR6. How many links do i need to buy to get my website PR6.
No one knows. We can guess, but no one knows. What has been guessed is that PR is a big number, which is then placed into the 1-10 scale: PRPOINTS: 1-10 -> PR 1 10-100 -> PR 2 100-1000 -> PR 3 ETC Thus making each step 10x as hard to reach as the last. But what is unknown is how many PRPOINTS are passed via links. All I've noticed is one link from PR 6 site turns a site PR 4, a link from PR 5 turns it PR 3 (Note: this is a simplified generalization, don't try this at home) So I'd guess you need 1 PR 8 link (or the equivalent) to make you PR 6. Now, if each PR value is worth 10x the last, 10 PR7 links == 1 PR 8 link. Again, no one is sure about anything.
It really depends on the neighborhood that is linking to your site. At times, 1 good link is all that's necessary in the eyes of PR. (*simplified) Long answer short, no one here has the answer.
Why don't you post it in the link sales forum. You will get plenty of replies... Also it is very difficult to become PR6 just from PR0. You need to go step by step.
The only that have the answers are fellows at Google. I guess they will never share their secrets though, will they
Agreed... Google doesn't have any need to share their secrets and moreover they keep changing the logic/code to keep those secret.
Each page can pass approximately 85% of its PR, but that is divided between the number of outgoing links. PR is rounded down for the tool bar, so a PR7 page could be PR7.01 to PR7.99 (no way to tell). If you got 1 PR7 link (say 7.5) x 85% it would make the page a PR 6.38. But if there were 10 outgoing links on the page linking to you, you would need 10 of those links to give it the same PR. So there is no right answer to how many links because it depends on a) the "actual PR" of the page giving the link and b) the number of outgoing links on the page. PR is also constantly changing, and toolbar PR is a look at the past, so a PR7 page linking to you may really have dropped to a PR5, but you won't see that until the next toolbar PR update. The number of outgoing links on the page is the most important factor in determining how much PR will pass. PR from a non-related sector site also isn't going to help you rank any better. The ideal link would be from a page with only one outgoing link, relevant to your site, and already ranking well for the keyword you yourself are trying to rank for.
I think you don't need to buy links to have PR6 just get quality links and optimized your site. Just be patient and wait for your site to have a PR6. And I also think that you don't need to get higher PR just to get on top of the search engine as long as your siste was properly optimized and has many quality links you can do it to be on top of the search engine. Don't need to hurry. Give priority on your keyword ranking.
Depending on the quality and total outbound links from those sites, but you don't probably even need 5 PR7. It's true no body can calculate exact PR points any more as this was never able for anybody to do so from the very begining. PR calculation can though estimate pretty well, giving you some idea of how many links of given PR you need. But yes, its gonna cost you.
Isn't it that also internal links matters ? Homepage of PR 7 will also pass PR to its internal pages not only external links.
PR6 will not mean nothing if your site sucks or has no value. First provide good content or service and then worry about getting good quality incoming links. If all you have is 10 x PR7 links you can count on being penalized by google if those are your only links.
you should consider this How is PageRank calculated? To calculate the PageRank for a page, all of its inbound links are taken into account. These are links from within the site and links from outside the site. PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + ... + PR(tn)/C(tn)) more infos : http://www.webworkshop.net/pagerank.html
No one can be sure. But I have seen this happening. A PR8 site was linking to 17 pr0 sites some years ago, and within 1 year all the 17 sites were pr6, the pr8 site dropped to pr7. I am myself witness to this.
How could you possibly know if there were any other outside factors involved. Such as, was the PR8 site the ONLY site linking to the PR0's? There is no argument for or against, as long as the algo is under lock and key.
If you want multiple links real fast, go to headsetoptions.org. Their page ranking is 6 and Technorati ranking is 60. They would be able to provide some info
I am pretty much sure, as I had myself seen the sites, and checked the backlinks. No seo done, no content at all on the 17 websites, absolutely nothing, except a backlink from the the pr8 site, and all became pr6. Google is Strange, unpredictable and Funny!
