I'm not looking to make much, just provide a valuable resource for others who have parked domains.

we normally use directories to get linkbacks. so no revenue out of it, but thinking about implementing adsene and other features now because some of of our directories are now pr3+.

How do you obtain backlinks? If your directory is free then people would like to submit freely and do not give you a recip. link.

I am developing a regional (indian) webdirectory. But not sure how much indian webmaster are paying for submission. Please let me know if you know it. If they are not paid well then I will move to PPC ad.

Don’t know if there is a big market, normally Indians are more on “free directory” submission services.

Are you sure Ask! ? I object to your views on generalising Indian webmasters. Please have a look at Amit. Myself, not being so experienced webmaster (primarily I am a link building professional), still I have been promoting my sites ( Yes paying a lot-but selective-after considering lots of parametres) like anybody out there.

One should not generalise one particular community.

I think that Most of the business goes to Yahoo's Directory but I think that some smaller web directories can make over $100,000 in sales per year. However their link acquisition, service, customer acquisition costs would probably push the directory in the $20-30k.
