Does anyone know of a web based email site that will let me download my email from a Pop3 email server, like outlook express. Pretty much what I need is a site that will access my email and reply to with my business email account. I would like to use outlook express but my work blocks the ports so I am unable to check or reply to my business email while I am at my regular day job. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated. JerrSun
I always use Gmail. You can set it up to reply through the POP3 of your business account. See if you can access Gmail and if you can, all post on how to set it up.
Thanks Drig, I have a gmail account but never knew you could use it to access Pop3 mail accounts. Could you please let me know how that is done. JerrSun
Does your business site offers you with Webmail access ? Most hosted account does offer that. Otherwise, you could try http://www.mail2web.com
Thanks for all the help guys. Gmail seems to do exactly what I need. My hosting company provides webmail for my domain but access is blocked when i try to log on through my works internet. Gmail isn't blocked here so I can access it freely. Gmail looks like it will let you recieve up to 5 Pop3 email accounts as well as send outgoing mail through them. I have set up an account to test but cant verify the information till I get home. I'll keep you guys updated on what the status of using Gmail for my business email is when i get home. Once again thanks for all the help guys. JerrSun
No problem, glad we could help you out. If you have troubles, just posts and Ill be happy to help you.
I was using Gmail too but the problem is using gmail as your business email does not look much professional!
"Eudora" will make your life soooooo easy. I answer about 10 email accounts every day, mabye 100-300 emails a day. This consolidates all of the email sinto one simple to use interface where i just respond and send directly from there. there is no better way to spend $100, it will make your life so much easier.
Actually, you can access your POP3 account directly through Gmail. It will come from "address@domain.com" not "username@gmail.com".
In fact, i was talking about using gmai las a business account because of its powerfull spam filter. I would like to do that but in any case if i press "Reply" button it will show me/other side address. Do you know anyway to use gmail's email filter but still reply from email like ?
You can signup for Google Apps for Domain. You can see more details here http://www.google.com/a/ . I have signed up for an account and now I have fifty 2 GB gmail mail accounts of username@mydomain.com . The added advantage is that you can sign up for GTalk too. Which allows you to chat with GTalk users with these ids.
This looks excellent. It is free too. But is there anything complex or preblematic here? For example i have my own email servers on my dedicated server, can that be a problems. And i had to enter more than 20 domain. Do thay allow that?
Setting up the account is not at all complex. All you have to add an MX entry to your DNS settings. The entire mails will be stored on Google's server. I have no idea on how many domains they support. BTW, I signed up for the services 3 days back. Then they did not have premier service, but now they provide it (Though the rate is a little high).
That too is possible. Goto settings > Accounts > Add another email address Add the email address you want to show, say contact@yourdomain.com . Gmail will send a mail to that address to verify that you are the owner of that account. From then on, you can select the sender when composing a mail. If you do the following thing too, then you can forget abt your original account. Configure your original account to forward all your mails to xx@gmail.com. If you do this along with the above step, then any mail sent to contact@yourdomain.com can be accessed with gmail and when you click on the reply button, contact@yourdomain.com will be automatically selected as the sender.
IncrediMail is my favorite for the past 3-4 years. Before that I was using Outlook Express. Once I tried it, I never looked back
